Re: another back line trim bar

Any real difference vs OR's other than color? None. It was designed by the the same three designers: R3. This is correct, the Stick Shift was the 1st release of the R3 bar but there are / will be other brands who license the design, BWS being the first out of the gates! FWIW, @Sun, you nailed our P...

Bummer 😉
I'm really good at coming up with excuses to replace gear. Just PM me if you need any reasons to replace your kites too! :P

Re: The new Ocean Rodeo Mako featuring Bliss air Pads and Straps

How about the boards? Are they any different? I have the orange 2015 150. Apart from the loss of the extra holes to go mutant....any difference? Thx! Or6 Since 2015 the Mako has indeed gone through some important updates. This year over last, they are less noticeable but last season's Mako was a to...

Re: The new Ocean Rodeo Mako featuring Bliss air Pads and Straps

@Thickair, the new pads feature both a super plush EVA foam and the addition of Air pockets under the heel and balls of the feet. By far the nicest pads I've ever used (and yes, I totally agree the very 1st Bliss pads were our best of the bunch... until now!)

Re: Ocean Rodeo stick shift bar

I'd be a bit worried giving it to a beginner who is used to a standard bar, as I could see someone inadvertently pulling too hard on the knob side of the bar and overcorrecting into a loop. Basically, the advantages outweigh any negatives for the intermediate to advanced kiter; having a clean view ...

Re: rip stop canopy

@Alfred, the post above is 'straight from the top'! "Icarumba" is our Founder, Richard who started Ocean Rodeo in 2001 and immediately brought to market innovations such as full dacron framing, spanwise panel shaping, shock strips, etc that have all helped build our reputation for durability...

Re: Ocean Rodeo stick shift bar

...This is my main concern, the bar is HUGE. When I first unpacked it, I thought I ordered a wrong model, but there is only one size. It's almost 58cm end to end and almost 2 times as thick as my old North bar. I wish you guys made a smaller less bulky model, not sure why it has to be so big. On 9M...

Re: Ocean Rodeo stick shift bar

Argh! Thanks for the great write up - very well presented! The stopper does become second nature once you've used it enough, kind of like fumbling for the light switch in the dark you start to intuit the behaviour you need to get it to move quickly every time. The winder, as mentioned, is easy to un...

Re: Ocean Rodeo stick shift bar

Thanks OR fort having accepted to send me a bar without CL for my special application and modification... Delighted to see people experimenting with the product. Needs to be said publicly, we neither tested nor endorse this version of the bar but we are happy to see Regis excited by the bar's trim ...

Re: Back Line Trim Control, Introducing The Stick Shift Control Bar

I'm curious how the back line trim affects steering vs. front line trim. Any significant difference? The short answer is no, the steering is unaffected. The longer answer is to say that we ship the bar with Liros's newest DC 401 lines which offer unparalleled stiffness and lack of stretch combined ...
