Re: North Orbit 2022 (9m or 8m)?

Orbits like to be powered up. I can ride my 9m from low 20s to gusts of 40 for my comfort level. I could hold down more but we do not get that enough for me to build up my confidence in it on the 9m. I weigh around 83kg or 185 lbs ( I think that is the right conversion to metric). As far as the bar ...

Re: Wakestyling on North Orbit 9m

You can try but it will not be that great. The kite flies far to the edge of window. You do have some of the top riders doing big dangle passes on them but that is a bit different than parking the kite low for a good pop. It will really be hard to hit any rails with it as well since you want your ki...

Re: Austin TX, business plus kite - place spot advice needed?

SPI will be good in May. Corpus will be windier. SPI if you want to just relax on an island with not much going on. Corpus is more of a metropolitan area. Or you can hit both spots since they are 2 hours apart.

Re: north reach 2022 reviews

I don't think it has hit shops yet. I got my hands on the 12m last week in some lighter wind. It is pretty much the same Reach as it has been. I did a few unhooked tricks even though I hardly do them anymore. It's just as fast and predictable as it has been known to be. The changes are just refineme...

Re: Maui (Kihei area) - 11am no riding rule apply for wing?

If I remember correctly it does include windsurfing so I would imagine it would include winging.

Re: North Orbit vs Reach on 12m

Ok so after riding both back to back in more of the low end of both kites for me I am going with the Reach. This I am saying more on personal preference. The Reach is far more responsive and faster and that I prefer. To me the Orbit does not keep its agility in the 12 vs the 9 and 10. It feels more ...

Re: 11m XR7 vs. OR Rise (A) any direct experience out there?

Like others have said you don't need a new kite to heli-loop. I used to do the. On my 12m xr6 and I am way lighter than you. All so with you weighing as much as you do it is going to be hard for a fair comparison. Unless it is coming from someone of equal size. All that being said the Rise is more o...

Re: North Orbit vs Reach on 12m

I am in the same boat. I have the Reach now but I find myself going more to big air. I do not like to surf with a 12 or foil with the 12 as it gets overpowered really fast. Tomorrow I will be trying both the Orbit and the new Reach in 12m to see if I want my quiver to be 7/10 Reach and 9/12 Orbit. B...

Re: North Kites - do an Aluula Orbit! (please?)

Why would you want it slapped onto another kite and not a kite designed from the ground up to take advantage of Aluula? You don't need a lighter kite in 35kts of wind. The durability is not an issue because all the kites are holding up to very high wind speeds. Now if you can make a kite that is mor...
