Re: Curing epoxy under higher pressures?

:D :D was wondering whether I might be able to use the inner tube from a tractor tyre. What do you think? I can answer you this one. I build one of these. The widest tractor tube i got was 30 cm. So it was stil min. 10 cm to narrow. I put a layer of PVC and sprinkled it with baby powder to get the t...

Re: Curing epoxy under higher pressures?

Nice! I've seen a pnuematic press on skibuilder.com and have been scratching my head about how to use one when there is concave in the board becasue the ones I've seen clamp the board between 2 rigid surfaces. Does the bladder in yours press directly on the board or do you have sheet of mdf or the l...

Hi Stan

What set up are you using for pressuring it up?

Curing epoxy under higher pressures?

Has anyone tried curing epoxy under higher pressures than 1 atmosphere? Whenever I read articles of on performance composites it seems that curing under high pressures seems to be part of story. I guess this makes sense cause it pushes the epoxy deeper into the core material for better adhesion? I w...

Twin Tip design tool progressing....

I haven't had much chance recently to try out some of the new board ideas I've been hearing about but I have managed to progress the twin tip design tool that I started work on a few months back. So, I wanted to share a sample of the types of plans that its now turning out. I've attached a copy of a...

Re: new one

Well done. Looks fantastic, a real pro looking board. You mentioned a new idea in rocker design. Could you tell us some more about it? Also, very interested in how you did you graphics which came out looking excellent. What is 'auto film'. What type of material is it and where do you get it and get ...

Re: What difference do channels make, if any?

I love the channels on my liquid force DLX. I'll ride a normal freestyle board again. The channels make it track teally good when you're edging, but flatten the board and it's. Perfect for landing blind, because you can easily slide the last way around without crashing. And landings are so soft and...

Re: Anyone made their own fins and footpads?

I've made small fins for a twin tip with 1/4" lexan. Got it from the free scrap bin at the local plastics shop. Cut out 4, clamp them together and finish the outline all at the same time. Then grind a foil onto each one, sand them more and finish them nice if you care (I no longer bother getting to...

What difference do channels make, if any?

Hi All I'm just toying around with plans for my new board and started paying attention to the channels appearing on new boards. Double concave, cabrihna's quad concave etc. Would seem to add some complexity to DIY construction so wanted to see what the concensus was on whether they actually did anyt...

Re: Anyone made their own fins and footpads?

Found this link to people making them out of premade G10 sheet.

$60 fro 12"x24" x#1/4 inch but for small fins that will do a lot of them.

http://www2.swaylocks.com/forums/g10-fins

Anyone got tips on what foil cross-section to put into them? How much does it matter?

Cheer
Matt
