Could you lay the kite out and measure the difference between the front and rear bridles, that should give you the difference between the front and back lines? Let me know if you haven't solved this as I had a friend who had a Bandit dos so I can ask her.

Tarifa should be windy then and the crowds have gone...if you can hold off booking flights it'll allow you to check the forecast before you commit, 4 days isnt really enough to guarantee wind anywhere in Europe in sept.

Coaching is (pretty much) always worth it in my experience, it depends more on how much money you're prepared to spend to feed your addiction!

At the end of the day there are always going to be those who are too skint, too macho or just to plain stupid to take lessons...conversely there will be those who don't take lessons but approach teaching themselves in a safe, methodical way and I don't think we can sit and arbitrarily judge them on ...

I agree with you in a way starksy, a lot of people would have no problems teaching themselves, though inagree in the long run lessons are the cheaper way to go. The problem however is the one or two (that damn minority again) that come down the beach unfurl their 2 line 16m kite and hot launch it in...
