Re: Lightwind wave/fun board

Second the liquid force 5'3" great for LW with kite. Good construction. Cheap, the wake surf version is identical and can be found cheaper sometimes through wake shops. Agree that the fins suck for LW or waves. Get smaller fins for flat water LW and buy larger bolt through 5" surf fins for surf, set...

Re: What will kiting look like in 2023?

It will look pretty much as it always has. Most riders mowing the lawn with some weak jumps, a few folks charging it. And at least one jackass on the beach who spends all his time talking about the superiority of his ram air.

Re: Beginner advice: Don't be afraid to drop your kite

Ospreys right on but I think people are misunderstanding him...

The quick version: try some tricks, fall and fail, yes your kite will get wet BUT you will be a much better Kiter for it! Let the grass grow!

Re: Strenght and flexibility

Lol Just because carbon has better strength to weight ratios doesn't mean much on paper. S glass is better than e glass. But that doesn't mean much either. Look to the largest industry of sandwhich const, the ski and snowboard industry. E glass is used for 99% of the builds, that 1% that's not is sa...

Re: Strenght and flexibility

Rocker has nothing to do with flex characteristics but means something when talking about overall design. I like foam, lighter than wood by a lot and easier to build to your desired specs. Ie no spring back. My suggestions 12-15mm foam in middle taper from inner insert pack to tip 2.5 mm 20 oz triad...

Re: Discussion about rocker, concave and fins...

forget about fins. theyre useless except when landing a jump or whenever the board is flat. You're edge is your fin. bottom shape, again, unless you go dramatic (ie mako) its pretty unnoticeable. If your gonna put fins on your board, just work with a flat bottom and not worry about one more detail t...

Re: Different rocker types

I know you can rock it unhooked Larse... start at 5cm. dont do flat in the middle. cant let you in on my ultimate set up, but focus on a smooth continuous unless you ride in a dedicated flat water, at that point you can play with 3 stage. continuous is the best compromise for the best efficiency wit...
