Re: Slingshot RPM's work well in surf!

You have only to ask those having to deal with rescuing the Germans on Lake Garda struggling to relaunch in the oft flukey summer breezes down there, the Delta being the worse offender You have got to be kidding me. Deltas have insane relaunch. And no, I don't fly deltas. Well, I can imagine these ...

Re: Third Squall Related Severe Accident In A Month

Short summary of the German eyewitness account: Squall line starts to develop, kiter comes off the water. Tries to land kite, friend who he thought would assist didn't see the kite because it was in his back. Kite landed too fast, bounces back up from the ground and goes to 12 o'clock. At the same ...

Re: Third Squall Related Severe Accident In A Month

Below is the long piece in german in which the German eyewitness tells how the accident happened. Better for a German to translate it into english then by a Dutch guy like me. ok dann klär ich mal ein wenig auf! Als die Front näher kam sind bis auf 3 Mann alle vom Wasser gekommen, inkl. dem Verunfal...

Re: Third Squall Related Severe Accident In A Month

Last I read from the day before yesterday is: de kiter ligt in Leiden , ze houden hem nog een dag in een kunstmatig coma voor zover ik dat juist begrepen heb, tot wat we nu van info hebben, is dat hij verschillende breuken heeft en een longletsel. Keeping our fingers crossed! Frank Free translation:...

Re: Third Squall Related Severe Accident In A Month

The last link is from april 2008.
First 2 links are current.

I line nearby where the accident happened.
After reading all the info, the accident was very easy avoidable by just going off the water in time like most did.
"How the sky looked like" was a very clear warning. IMHO no need for discussion.

Re: Best low-end which one....13m Fuel....14m RPM....13m Rev2

sounds like in light air some riders might be chokin the chicken ... loop. ;) Agree. In very low end, easing a little on the bar/power makes a big difference in going upwind. I Demo-ed the RPM and the REV - 2, not bad kites, but compared to the new North Evo there's no COMPARISON. I experienced the...

Re: Best low-end which one....13m Fuel....14m RPM....13m Rev2

I have rode the RPM 8M and 10m, and can compare to my SB3 8m... My SB3 8m has definitively a bettter low end than the RPM 8m (but i prefer riding the RPM).... The surprise was to feel than the RPM 8m has a "better low end" than the 10RPM !!! In fact What i felt is that the 10m pull more than the 8m...

Re: A very sad day in Cape Town....

This could have hapened to anyone.... When I read the topic on hanglos.nl it states: Craig Lambinon van de NSIR zegt op EWN.co.za : “We caution that there are strong gusting winds, they are gusting in places at times in excess of 50 Knotts. Any windsurfers, kite surfers or paddlers should exercise ...

Re: Bandit dos - which size should i take?

Definitely no 10m for your weight.
When DOS(I got RPM's) then I, 72kg, would take 9m as biggest size even in a 2-kite quiver.
Looking at your weight of 55kg, I'd say 8m
