Re: Do kites stay at the same pressure after hours?

I have repaired many kites. After each bladder repair we would always leave the kite pumped up overnight. If it wasn’t firm the next day we looked for more leaks. Bladder repair isn’t difficult. There are instructions on the internet. Be sure to pump your kite up before you remove the bladder and us...

I'd suggest beginning to boost with your current equipment. No reason to change everything just to begin. You can boost on any foil and any board.
Agreed.

Re: The SAB kraken has landed

Be aware that a zinc sacrificial anode only works while your foil is immersed in salt water. Alpine Foil has had these on their aluminum fuselages for years now and we still see corrosion if they are not rinsed with fresh water after every use. Frankly I think the zinc anode is a somewhat of a sales...

Re: Is Squamish open for kiting the summer?

Squamish was the premier kiteboarding spot in western Canada. The main access roadway to the spit has now been partly demolished. The only access to what is left (an island) is now by a shuttle boat service run by the Squamish Windsports Society.. and you need a season membership or a three day pass...

Re: Moses SABfoil

I often use my W950 with my kite in lighter wind. (It is similar to the W945.) I bought the W950 for winging but find it glides very well and it makes my kiting jibes and tacks easier. I use it with the S483 stabilizer and F700 fuselage because that is what I have. Overall it turns slightly slower a...

Re: Sea Anchor Leash Atatchment System...

A much more effective way to relaunch in light winds is to either sit on your board (if it is big enough) or to just place the board in front of you (downwind of you). When it is sideways between you and your kite, then put your feet underwater on the fuselage, one foot in front and one behind the m...

Re: Take Foil apart always after use?

I guess everybody has their favorite. All of the products mentioned above work. None has any chemical advantage, they all just provide a barrier to keep saltwater away from the aluminum/stainless contact areas. Sabfoil recommends lithium grease which is a common inexpensive product available at any ...

Re: Hydrofoil design - too sharp edges

The makers of higher performance hydrofoils often supply them with sharp trailing edges for optimum performance. But many of us prefer more dull trailing edges for safety and so when we get a new foil we spend a few minutes with some sandpaper rounding off the sharp parts. This is very easy. Make th...

Re: Triton Foils releases the first accessible monowing: Triton T1

I am having no trouble with it and I never moved my mast position. I use footstraps and everything seems well balanced on my board when I use the mono wing. I do have to be more careful with my foot switches because it is less pitch stable than a normal rig.. but not really a problem. The one thing ...
