Re: Kite schools near South Beach

Yea they're taking my word for it... you think I'd be better off just telling them to wait it out? there's a chance of some wind tomorrow (sunday) probably along with some rain. other than that there's nothing in the forecast, i'd suggest skipping lessons. i don't know how those specific schools op...

Re: Kite schools near South Beach

may as well just go to the school that teaches out of crandon park, i think miami kiteboarding. that's probably one of the best spots to learn in the area since it's shallow and flat i would advise them about optimal wind speeds for learning though... i don't know if that shop would just take a stud...

Re: Wanted: 4 or 5m LEI kite for trainer

Was considering a trainer myself.... Can you fly a 3m trainer in 8-10mph winds and can you do any body dragging with a trainer? thanks. obviously a lot depends on your weight. a 3m trainer will fly in 8-10 mph but you will need some skill to keep it in the air. when i teach beginners on a trainer I...

Re: Wanted: 4 or 5m LEI kite for trainer

honestly, just get a cheap 2 or 3m one from ebay, then take a lesson. there's no need to waste time with an inflatable trainer when you could just be riding with a full size kite. the point of a trainer is just to teach you about the wind window and build some basic reflexes for how the kite steers....

Re: beginner question, wired crossed after kite falls

Once you stop having such spectacular crashes, your kite won't flip inside out as much (if at all). I can't remember the last time my lines inverted. You can try to fix it on the water by feeding the bar through the center lines, but it's more of an advanced move since you're unhooking yourself from...

Re: New drone, auto, waterproof and $499US

Thats pretty damn cool. Only problem is the battery life. 20 min flight time is far to short of a time to make it even useful. 20 minute flight time is pretty good for consumer quadcopters we got about 7-10 minutes per battery on our phantom at work. had to fly it with 3 batteries on board for it t...

Re: Facing backwards while jumping

isn't this basically how every snowkiting jump goes? since you're flying in the direction of the leading edge, rather than the trailing edge like on the water
