Re: Flysurfer Peak4 in 5 m2, truly stoked

Yesterday had the 5m on 17m lines because of tight launch spot. That puts the kite at 22m from the rider... pretty much where I like to use my Lei kites. Felt great so I won’t try it with extensions until I struggle for a water start. Put my bar with 27m lines in the kite cave for now. A 5m would l...

Re: Flysurfer Peak4 in 5 m2, truly stoked

I waited for about half an hour for the kite to get from one side of the window to the other on 27m of lines and 5m of bridle. right . . . so it is ok for me to say that about the 5m and 23.5m lines :) the 3m was the first Peak I tried and I thought awesome. Fast and lively. Somewhat like the 3.7 c...

Re: Flysurfer Peak4 in 5 m2, truly stoked

The rings seem weird, but they are on loops, so you can use the loop or use the ring as a knot. Once, one of my friends offered me his ozone Reo, but everything was backwards compared to the bar I normally use. So, it is a pretty good universal solution. If it's flapping a lot, you're overpowered. ...

Hello Tomw have you ever had any bent masts?
I have a couple of friends who have had the gong gear for a long time and no issues with the masts or wings. Tough as.

Re: Moses W 633 speed

Thanks I was looking for a review of this combo: surface inbetween the 483 and 420 and thin profile. Please let us know when you have the chance to try it in more wind. The 679 (683S) and the 420 is my current setup and I love the combo. Having said that, I liked the 325 that I had set on it and I ...

Re: Review Peak4 8m?

"I am only deducing this from Peter's comments, would be great if he could clarify." So ask him. He certainly did not write about 5m sweet spot is 9-11knts because is not. agree. no way 9-11 knots is the sweet spot for the 5m. I can get going in that but sweet spot would maybe be more around 13/14 ...

Re: Flysurfer Peak4 in 5 m2, truly stoked

I cant imagine it means anything, on such a small kite, the location of the V  I will make some comparisons when possible, to test powerspike. But you need to test different sizes, as a 3 m2 Peak4 corresponds to a 5 m2 LEI wavekite, or maybe a 4½ m2, in terms of its sweetspot, it seems. And a...

Using 21 m lines with high V and not a thick frontline so not much drag.

Havent ridden with other linelengths though.

8) Peter

I ride with no deposed strap . . . just long trim and low V and seems fine.

would be interesting to see whether the 5m peak flies different with high V.

Re: Flysurfer Peak4 in 5 m2, truly stoked

More on this: Peaks loose L/D /more drag/ very quickly on either side powered and also depowered. They have max speed somewhat powered - this is different from closed cell kites which "almost" the more you depower the faster it zip through WW. Im using quite thick and long lines /25m + bridal/ Mayb...
