Re: the upwind angles are mostly influenced by the aspect ratio of the kite?

Back then (before started foiling) I used directional board from RRD called K-free 60. Something similar to the Airush Sector. My upwind ability and lowend were great. It needed a bit of a getting used to but once you figure out how to ride it was great low wind tool.

Re: Anyone currently living in Tenerife South?

Thanks guys for all the useful info, I’m on my way home now and I managed to fit last session on the day of departure. Had great three sessions during 9 days stay, could have two more but on first two days kids go sick (brought it from cold Europe) so I didn’t want to leave my wife on her own with ...

[/quote] Can't dive down when you are dragging someone in and you're on a kite. They will grab your control bar. 100% of the time, then they will loop it. I've had this happen to me and had it happen to friend before. You just have to overpower them, beat them on the hands until they let go and grab...

Somehow wingfoiling related question

Hi guys, I will try to keep this short as much as possible. The question is not winging-oriented but since it is about improving pumping skills while riding I think it can be placed here. I have lots of no-wind days and my house is just on the water so I'm thinking of starting to practice dock start...

Re: Milo The Action Communicator

Any news for this device? I see they have new software. Does anyone know if the delay issue is solved? We need something for the kids sailing club. Coaches are having a hard time giving group instructions when it's windy. What do you guys think will be a solution?

Re: Wingfoiling learning process

Hi guys, after the summer season and not much time for wing foiling due to the nature of my work, I had a couple of sessions during September. All I can say is that things got easier. First of all, standing on the board without enough wind to ride is now possible for short periods of time. It's so m...

Re: Wingfoiling learning process

Hi Eltreato, initially I got this board to keep it for longer time. Don't know is that going to be the case but I went for best inflatable board from Gong since I ride in rocky bay and with inflatables there is less chance of damaging and it was discounted :). Didn't want to take big beginners board...

Re: Wingfoiling learning process

lightwind, it is both your entry level technique, but also the fact you can not go as easy and crazy angles as with a kitefoil. Apart from that you hardly learn on a super high aspect wing. So upwind angles with same type of foilwings are poor, compared to kitefoiling. But with experience you will ...

Re: Wingfoiling learning process

Thanks for the good info. I'm far away from pumping the board and the wing. Can do a little of wing pumping but still unstable on the board. Definitely need more balance practicing without the wing power.

Re: Is my school a scam?

It's normal to change kite sizes during learning process. Especially if the wind conditions are changing. After you learn you will use only the size for the wind conditions on your home spot. What can be the problem is if they are using your lesson time to change kites all the time. Sometimes you mu...
