Re: cape hatteras in October

For freestyle, you'd probably want soundside, not ocean. For NE, the best spot is "Sandy Bay" (a/k/a the "washout") on the right hand (north) side of Hwy. 12 between Frisco and Hatteras Village. For N, there are a number of spots from Kite Point (between Avon and Buxton) all the way to Kitty Hawk Ki...

Re: cape hatteras in October

Yes.....and yes. iKitesurf stats (1990 - present) say 65% of days on H.I. during October have wind over 15 mph. You can't count on that every year, but I usually kite 4-5 days per week in the fall. If you can foilboard, you'll be on the water pretty much every day if you want. In October, the crowds...

....seing so many new to wingfoil, both windsurfers and kitesurfers and some new to windsports, starting, and loving it .... What could someone say to convince me to try wingfoiling? I've been kitefoiling 4-5 years and I'm still learning new things all the time. I still enjoy the TT and challenge m...

Re: What mistakes did you make learning to foil?

Can you jump straight into foiling and skip twin tipping? From your video they look like two different skill sets? Reason is I just started learning twin tipping, but the last 3 to 4 times I've been at my beach, there's only been 8 to 12 knots of wind, so I only see people foiling. I'm thinking abo...

Re: Safest low wind kite for kitefoiling

Bartek, have you tuned your 12m Soul recently? I use a 10m Soul for light wind foilboarding. If I keep the kite moving (to avoid slack lines), it won't misbehave the way you've described, and keeping it dry is not too difficult. I'd be surprised if the 10m and 12m Souls, if properly tuned, are that ...

Re: Ozone Uno for a kid worth it or not

Epic Kites also has a kid-specific bar with reduced throw, small chicken loop, shorter bar, etc. Dimitri went through this process with his son, Cameron, and he designed all the Epic kids' gear based on that experience. Might be worth a look. https://store.epickiteskiteboarding.com/products/6g-junio...

Any tips for a VERY lightweight kids board, 128-130cm?
Have you considered the Epic Junior Pro at 115cm?

Re: What are you best tips for learning to foil?

Bragnouff, reasonable minds can differ, of course. But most foilboarders would agree that learning is easier on a larger front wing (like the Infinity) and a larger board that won't nosedive (one that makes it easier to (as you say) "Learn to comfortably taxi"). Those gear choices for beginners aren...
