For snow kiting I’ve used one of those carabiners with a wheel in it. Be sure you’re ok with the added reach to the bar.

Gath Jedi helmet with full face shield, and a Buffs neck gator with large breathing holes, works for me without sunscreen and no burning eyes. Also loose fit long sleeve rash shirt, gloves, and standup ventilated paddle pants.
