Queen bed, couch, coffee machine, beer fridge, wood stove, room to dry out gear. We used to airbnb but the Town has cracked down, so now we just hav...

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

We are weather softies down here in the San Juans. I went up to Ironton yesterday for a lunch break a little less than prepared. Single digit temps (I know, the northerners must be scoffing as I imagine you guys wear shorts down to around ten below). Wind was good and the snow was soft and fast. Sta...

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

That was a great day out Glickster! I am starting to get a little more control on the sled and hope to be able to tow some folks out soon. Here's yesterday's track from LH. Perfect untracked pow and steady 15m north winds all to myself. A couple slednecks showed up later and started lapping around t...

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Here's a couple shots of San Juans outings this past week. It's more white up there than it looks, Ha! The alpine is a little wind scoured but soft bits still around with a little hunting. I've embraced the dark side and got a sled, so I'm gung ho for sorties to more remote locations so long as the ...

Scott, I realize that I have Mountain Rescue training Saturday morning in Ouray, so I'll be up on Big Mac Saturday afternoon if anyone can make it up. Any plans for Sunday??

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Happy Turkey Massacre Day gang! I am thankful that the white stuff is starting to pile up. Wind was good up at Crystal Reservoir in Ironton this afternoon but I was worried that I was going to fall through the mixed 6" thick ice/slush layers. I plan to get out Saturday up on Big Mac after the big d...
