Re: Launching on lake in gusty conditions

I have a 4m that I got for my little girl for light days, I don't think it will work for me at 200 lbs even in 22 knots but I can always give it a shot.

Re: Launching on lake in gusty conditions

LOL wow, naaa that wont happen. I never kite on the side the wind is blowing toward and my return point is 1/4 mile out. That way if the wind does take me by surprise I have enough time to dump and if the leash method doesn't work I can pull my outside line release to let out the kite completely, ze...

Re: Launching on lake in gusty conditions

it's about knee deep until 30 feet out so that's not biggy, the problem with doing that is when I move the kite up/down or back and forth it jerks me a few feet before getting my balance. I'm not the best kiteboarder so I'm sure it will take several shots. the training I got was on a beach with stat...

Launching on lake in gusty conditions

The lake is just under a mile wide and the water level is about 2 foot below the highest part of the bank. Re: Board Travel Options

saintofwind is correct shipping your board FEDEX or UPS is cheaper and you can put insurance on it. I've even gone as far as ordering clothes online and having them delivered the day before I leave to the hotel's address with the managers name. Then I make sure they were delivered and when I arrive ...

Wetsuits

I'm in the need of a wetsuit because the lake I kite in Florida is absolutely freezing this year. Any suggestion, the water is probably 65 degrees so should I buy a full or half and how thick. Also, where to get one?
