Re: viron 4m in waves with hydrofoil

Good on you for showing the struggle in all its glory Regis - I was having flashbacks to the stormy onshore conditions I have tried to get out in on the foil. So damn frustrating , you hate the whitewater so much , if you try to start too soon your mast hits bottom, and you think it is never going t...

Re: Moses W873 2100cm wing discussion

From the Moses website: "the 873 full carbon front wing. The ultimate downwinder, pump wing" From my experience - Go Foil: Kai wing ~ 1200cm2 Kiteable, and good for SUP foil in formed waves ( shoulder high for me) Iwa wing ~ 1500-1600cm2 - too big to kite sensibly with, good for waist / chest high w...

Re: Fly surfer soul wind range

Am considering a 12m Soul for twin tipping and speed kiting in 18-20 knot winds. Am 80kg. Could someone with experience on the 12m tell me how it compares power-wise with an all round 12 or 14m LEI - say a Bandit or similar? My 12m high aspect speed kite needs minimal/no depower at 18-20 knots of br...

Re: comparison one strut kites

I have Ultras in 12, 10, 9( will sell), 8, and looking at getting a 6m . The addition of a 10m this year has evened out the sizing, didn't like the jump from 12 to 9 last year. I use for foiling only. I have tried Cloud C2, LF Solo v1, Notus Air v1 and Reo's - the Ultra suits me best . Highly resist...

Re: The Monjet Ninox

@Sombra I weigh 80kg if that helps. I feel the range of my Shaman is similar to my 15m Chrono ie both start around 5 knots and get uncomfortable around 12knots ( bearing in mind I am not a racer - they would hold down a 15m on short lines into the higher teens most probably). Regarding flight charac...

Re: The Monjet Ninox

For what its worth I have been playing with a Gin Shaman 9m for foiling in very light winds - I was very inspired after watching the video of the guy on a 6m in 10 knots in the Sinai ( check Vimeo) . So far I have been out 3 times , including today. All sessions have been 5 -10knots to start with . ...

Re: Gin Shaman for light wind hydrofoiling?

Hi Peter, The Gin design seems to have addressed the downsides you listed ( flapping , power, stability ) - it has "closed cells" at the wingtips to prevent flapping during loops , and reports are that it is powerful . If someone is powered using a 6m single skin when another rider is on a 12m LEI t...

Gin Shaman for light wind hydrofoiling?

Hi, Wondering if anyone has any experience using the new Shaman single skin for light wind foiling ? I know it is mostly supposed to be a snow and land kite but apparently they did test it for water use and it went ok - they are not making any bold claims for water relaunch though , so I guess it wi...
