BA is pretty good about not charging extra on fees. If you can come up with any sort of plausible argument/excuse and do it in a polite way they will almost always give in.

I'm going to Thailand/Vietnman in a week. Hopefully this time the airlines won't f*** up. I won't be flying Air India.
