Re: Kaupter XT Falcon

Good looking mid AR kite. Cell count is 39. Fabric must be extremely light weight if 11m kite weighs less than 1,5kg. Design of kite is typical - but not cheap or simple - which makes both light weight and fair price even more respectable. I must say I am pretty impressed now and looking forward to ...

Re: flysurfer C-pully line ("sparepart line") knot question

C-pulley line is long enough for 21m kites so there is plenty length for smaller kites. They could have shorter mixers but for simplicity they are all same. Pulley line length is not at all critical as far as it is long enough. To clarify this: for certain mixer pulley line length is of course crit...

Re: Flysurfer sonic Race

And it looks like VMG could be improved as well... LOL my faith in FS designs is starting to fade now. Or should I offer some consultation? They really should think more of what they are doing, ask simple questions for themselves. But VMG v2 is correct - it has only one pulley. That is pretty diffic...

Re: Flysurfer sonic Race

BTW I checked Sonic Race line plan and it quite a lot seems to me there is a design flaw in it. I also thought line plan is not correct but it is in line to what they explain in their web site. IIRC FS replaced this model quite rapidly with VMG. I don't wonder why. Understanding pulley systems and w...

Re: flysurfer C-pully line ("sparepart line") knot question

KIte is fully powered when mixer is even, then when depowered lines move in pulleys as far as they do, it mainly depends how big kite is. You can see the working range from used line just looking it carefully, pulley has made some wear on that area. C-pulley line is long enough for 21m kites so ther...

Re: Ozone Chrono V4

Interestingly Ozone have kept the Chrono V3 EXP as the snowkite Chrono and they've not released a Chrono V4 EXP. The Chrono V3 EXP has open cells and also has the internal re-ride system to quickly collapse the kite. Does anyone know why Ozone decided to keep the Chrono V3 EXP for snowkiting rather...

Re: Soul V2?

Very difficult task to improve Soul. I don't what could be done. Of course you can say it should be more stable, boost higher turn faster, but how to do it. Main parameters are pretty finished already. If anything I'd have it further from Sonic so a bit lower AR and perhaps bit more canopy curve. Th...

Re: Flysurfer sonic Race

The previous owner had the 11m FR settings at A=Z, B=-32mm, C=-41mm, and that is what I was using. Any suggestions on B&C settings to have the kite fly further forward but not lose stability? That setting lowers camber quite a lot. It means kite will fly slower, boosting/upwind is worse and kite si...

Re: How to fix strut blow out

Cutting stretch area off makes it only worse, then there is also a big hole in bladder. What you need to do is to press stretched area down and use some thin tape strips to keep it flat. You have to find flat edge of the damaged area and use big enough patch to cover it with a reasonably margin - th...

Re: Why shallow water is dangerous

It makes no sense to argue religious people and it makes no difference if they believe in gods, angels, flat earth or pitbull dogs. They just don't care anything but their own believes. And yes I was attacked by a dog, it was a doberman. Owner screamed in the back and dog charged at full speed with ...
