Re: New Kite destroyed

I had a similar tear in the canopy of my 16m xbow. I repaired it myself and it flew just as well as it did before the tear. The repair you receive from a professional shop should be good.

Re: Foil - fuselage material

The SS Phantasm aluminum fuse is around $300 US whereas other carbon fuses are only slightly higher (some even less like F-One). I'm not sure why SS has not made a carbon fuse. The Phantasm carbon masts are expensive, but they have to be built tough to withstand the forces applied to them.

Re: LF thruster bumpy ride on Al fuse

Weeds in the water catching on your rig as well as a loose fuselage to mast connection will result in a "bumpy" feel. Where I ride there are weeds everywhere, and even with a low aspect front wing they still cause problems. To shed the weeds I do what I call the seaweed shimmy, sort of twisting/movi...

Re: Kitemare - kite beated down kiter in jump ! 2 core new kites involved - Epic video

I don't think that color coding the bar would have helped much in this situation where the bar was rotated a few times. The kiter appears to have gotten confused as to which way to rotate the bar to untwist the lines. Also, he should have allowed more room downwind before jumping and looping the kit...

I wonder if "kitexpert" can actually write like that, or if he is suddenly using the crutch of some type of mechanical assistance.
I think "kitexpert" is using AI to transform his post in the style of a carnival barker.

Re: This is funny

When their board shorts drop to their knees because they come untied, do they stop pumping or just keep going? :o

Re: Anyone else fall into a rut of skunked sessions?

Light wind is the main reason for me too. But I don't mind as I usually bring a fishing rod or paddle board if I get skunked due to light/no wind. I'm fortunate that I only live 15 minutes from two of my local launches. Over the years, other than light wind, equipment failures (mostly leaky bladders...

The double skin on wings and kites are called foreskins. Wings and kites do not have them as they have been circumcised.. :D

Re: Wingfoil is building faster than everything...

Peter,
Why did you choose the 7'-0" Cruzader Pro at 78kg. Gong's website shows it is 122 L. Is the added volume an advantage or necessary for stability for the long narrow boards?

Re: Strut bladder tip blow out repair

.. there must be a reason it blew out there in the first place! I have repaired many blown out tips like this. The failure is usually because the user failed to properly anchor the bladder by ensuring it is folded into the fabric at the tip, thereby keeping it attached to the tip. This is wh...
