Re: Saratoga Springs snowkite fly in Feb 18-19

We now have permission to park at Lee's Trailer Park on route 9P just south of the bridge that crosses the Saratoga Lake outlet. The owner Mary will keep it plowed out and is charging $5 to park , please fill this space first. There is also limited parking at the boat launch and if needed we can use...

Re: Through the ice

Damn that story gives me the heebie jeebies. I'm on early ice based on ice fishing reports and what worries me is gas holes and pressure cracks that are moving apart. I was walking on 12" of ice and one leg went thru an open crack that had a skim of ice and 1/2" of new snow , totaly invisable at fir...

Saratoga Convention and Tourism Bureau is in contact with the Polo association to see if we can use that site in addition to the main site on the north end of Saratoga lake. Also a state boa...

Re: Trainer kite to teach

I've got a 5m Apex II and 2 of the 7.5m. Myself, one of my kids and four neighbor kids (ages 12-14) fly the 5m regularly , the 7.5's are for me and one of the nieghbor kids. Absolutely great kites to learn on and when appropriate can be taken into gusty high wind conditions. My only concern and its ...

Re: Snowkiting First Time

League if you are small and light weight you might be able to do a little kiting on hardpack snow. If you get on ice a small kite will often work but a board on ice is not much fun. For ice you could switch over to short skis which are lots of fun and very easy to learn. The kite you have is great f...

Re: Ice Screws and Snowkiting!

Thank for the information Zeb. I wish I had it a couple of years ago , I would have picked up one long screw for making the ice anchor holes and several short screws to carry while zooming arround. Its allways bothered me leaving a metal post in the ice for a snowmobile or kiter to go ripping over. ...
