Re: Pulsion 18m

Kitexpert please ... read my message again and carrefuly. You are replying ot of topic of my arguments. Nobody said that panels are flat, obviously. We speak of setting the camber (in the range of 4-5 cm it is enough on a kite) and you say it will impact a lot more panel design at wingspan . Not at...

Re: Pulsion 18m

low camber kite and high camber kite has different shapes in panels, if you try to make one from the other there is considerable shape deviations. These are not at all small, it can be 1cm/cell, which is 30-40cm total error for the wingspan of a big kite. Nope. It is true for the arc of the kite, n...

Re: Pulsion 18m

If you start from Airush Ultra as being your lower wind kite reference we are not speaking of the same thing, sorry. I wish you could REALLY test one. Or read again the testers feedbacks. I am "surprised" by your arguments. Less comfort in high wind is regular feature due to lower apect ratio kites...

Re: Pulsion 18m

How much camber or how efficient airfoil "average-well-developed" kite has? You don't know Regis if Pulsion is good for low winds because it has relatively high camber airfoil or because it is so light weight kite. Because you admit P12 is "less comfortable in high wind" it suggest it has quite a lo...

Re: Pulsion 18m

... and say that I agree with Nem0 that the main parameter to kept foil kite in the air in low wind is weight per square meter (more precisely weight by projected area) ; I must say no. Because if kite has very low or even negative camber it does not produce lift at all at low AoA's and will not ke...

Re: Pulsion 18m

The problem with too much vents in the middle of intercells is also the fragility it implies (local concentration stresses around the hole) Yes, that is true. If rib does not have bridles it is possible to have many and large vents and save considerably weight. Because Pulsion has bridles on every ...

Re: Pulsion 18m

High end of Pulsion 18m can be compromised because excessive line drag keeps it deeper in the WW. This drawback helps stability though. I did a model of a kite with the specs given earlier, kite became 17,9m2 of area. Amount of bridle line was huge 280m, even though I tried to cascade them quite eff...

Re: Peter Lynn introduce the Aero V2

Aero V2 has 65 cells (same as Sonic race). Kite looks very well designed, I don't see why it couldn't be very competitive against top race kite models. MIniribs are a bit different than usually seen, apparently some development there. TE cell count is highest there is (with Sonic race), huge 130. I ...

Re: The Monjet Ninox

Kite above is lighter than a similar sized Peak and it has also less bridle line and it has simpler structure. Making holes in ribs would save some weight, but because it is a proto it is not necessary. Weight saving would be small, perhaps 5% at most. Using lighter weight fabric is trivial. Foilhol...

Re: The Monjet Ninox

:) But reasons for "hiding" are a bit different... Seriously, these single skin kites will make certain segment of foil kites obsolete, and development of these is continuing. Like I wrote there is couple of inventions in this kite which solve some single skin problems, for instance bridle is quite ...
