Re: Beginner kite- Core XR5 or Naish Pivot

I have had a 12m XR5 for about a year now and at first I was disappointed with it and called it boring, but I came to realize it was refined....It did everything smoother than my last kite and no nasty habits or surprises. I would not call it the fastest kite, or the quickest turning kite, or the mo...

Re: Leading Edge Bulge

I got the grey and teal. The canopy material is awesome and the dacron seems of good quality. The kite feels incredibly lite from what I am used to. Yet to pump it up, however it says that the recommended pressure is 11psi.

The bar is awesome.....a quality piece of gear with good attention to detail.

Re: Leading Edge Bulge

What size are you looking at? I dunno if you like the color scheme on the new Naish kites (I love the look of the teal / red), but apparently they are using a new thread that allows for more PSI in the kite without any deforming. The Slash is pretty epic IMO. Just ordered a 2019 8m Pivot with a BTB...

Re: Leading Edge Bulge

The color scheme? Really that is your deciding factor in a kite? Then what about the name Duotone? Maybe North can sell stickers. What’s wrong with not liking the colour scheme? Why would you spend your hard earned cash on a toy that you don’t like the look of? Especially when you can buy one you d...

Re: Leading Edge Bulge

Not a crack at any brand, it was a photo I used to visually aid what I was referencing.

My agenda is buying a new kite. I was leaning towards a Duotone Neo until I saw the colour scheme. Now exploring other options for a surf/freeride kite..

Re: Leading Edge Bulge

Yes, fabric stretches and shrinks, but some do so more than others. My Rebels and XR5 show very little evidence of LEB but usually only see about 8psi. The Dacron on the Rebels seems heavier than other kites while the XR5 is at a whole different level. My Airush One barely sees 7psi due to its large...

Re: Leading Edge Bulge

"LEB"... I like that..

Here is a picture of what I mean. BTW..This in not an anti-Ozone pitch as I have never owned or used one, just an image I found.

Leading Edge Bulge

Leading Edge Bulge is one of those little things I don't like and out of all the LEI kites I have owned since 2004, the only kites not to suffer this are my couple of year old Norths and latest Core kites. With all the latest materials kites are constructed from I would like to know.... - What kite...

Re: North Clicker Bar

The dump valve is obviously for deflating the kite. It allows you to roll the kite from one tip end to the other which is great when it’s really windy. I find it quicker to pack the kite up by releasing the dump and the inflation valve and rolling from one tip other than releasing just the inflate v...
