On snow your opening up a can of worms. I've seen skiers just flying, on a 3M in light winds, do to the aparent wind as thier speed increases, No jumping there. Smaller foils are why more efficient. But when you get bigger that changes. In northern MI a good quiver of foils would be 3m, 5m, 8m and a...

Best makes a damn good trainer kite. comes with Bar, harness line, teather, 425lb lines and a 2.5 to 3m or so, two line kite, for cheap 129$. The Bar, lines and swival harness line is worth more than that.
And no I dont sell or own one, Our local shop is selling them for snow kites.

Pully bar made my 6.6 CO2 so damn fast it was hard to control, Put the pully bar on my 5M XL (foil) real nice, bar is free of lines and turns faster and has adjustable brakes.
Now if someone would invent a depowerable pullybar for those big kites that would be nice.

Smallest kite on the water I've used is my 6.6m CO2, which seems to handle good to maybe 35 mph, I've used my B3 in 40+ mph winds, but never on water, have to admit the damn things move, turn so fast, great on the snow. On the water the kiter must be skilled with a small kite, and have a area that h...

I always use 500lb lines, and never had any of the bridles break on my little kites, 300lb just seem to just break in the winter. The kiter on that 3m chose the 3m over the 4m because the 3m had 500lb lines.

3M OR 4M Trainer kites are not a waste of money, a 4m foil is a perfect all around snow kite, 3m is also a good choice for those very windy days.
Two of the local lake michigan surfers had solid sessions on 3m on saturday when all of us were blown away !! Just dont turtle the kite!!

kiting in 50mph+ wind safe or insane.

2 of our local crews on lake michigan had solid sessions on 3M foils this weekend. Its amasing seeing that small kite pulling a 235lb kiter with a 145cm board.
Question whats the smallest kite you have used??
and what is the highest wind you have kited in?
