Re: Aluula Kites - for those of you who already have some hands-on experience

Just had my first foiling session with a 7m roam Aluula. So much fun. Wind was 12 to 18knts. My smallest foiling kite was the 10m roam. I don’t know why I didn’t get one sooner.

Re: Upcoming from Oceanrodeo Aluula 2023

A 1kg 10m 3 strut kite…….
A 12m that has the power of a 17m………
Some bold claims for future kites. Will they deliver.

Re: Aluula Kites - for those of you who already have some hands-on experience

Nice seppalord. Yeah can be a bit tricky with water relaunch in very light winds. Especially if it gets on its back. Reverse launch works well if you can touch the bottom. And are able to give it a good yank. Saying that, Once you get a bit more experience with the kite, you willI hardly ever get it...

Also the low end on TT for me on the roam 10m Aluula is around 14knts. While using a light wind board 146x46.
And at least 18knts on my normal TT.

Re: Aluula Kites - for those of you who already have some hands-on experience

The roams are design for foiling, so you can’t go wrong. Me personally at 65kgs can foil from 8knots on the 10m. Not a boost kite though. It will boost but drops you pretty hard. Not much float. Good looping kite, and drifting kite. Great for playing in waves. Have used upto 30knots on TT. Has great...

Re: Alula Roam or Rise 12m

I will let you know what I think of 12m rise in a couple of months. I bought it exactly for your use case. It’s winter down here in Australia so won’t get to try it, until it warms up a bit. Currently use a 10m roam Aluula and a Dacron flite 14.5m. I Use the 10m roam on the foil, then switch to the ...

Re: Aluula Kites - for those of you who already have some hands-on experience

I can’t comment on any of those. But I use a roam 10m Aluula with surf foil. (1050cm2) I weigh 65kgs. Can get going from 8knts, sweet spot for 11-14knts. Highly recommend the roam for foiling. Great drift. Great relaunch. Great depower. Have used upto 18knts. Anything less than 8knts. I call that da...

Re: Low volume/twin tip construction boards

I use a Shinn Jackson 112cm. They also make it in 128cm and 140cm.
I ride strapless. It sits deep in the water when on its side. So makes strapless water starts very easy.
Worth a look at too.

Re: 2022 Ocean Rodeo Aluula Rise: first hand experience?

My 12 will arrive soon. Hoping it will be a one kite quiver for my local winds. Light winds for foiling, then once it picks up hop on the TT.
Just it’s relaunch in light winds and if it’s got good depower when on the foil. I need answers for.
I will know soon enough.
