Re: Eclipse kites - Dimitri Maramenides "Most shocking vidios"

Beach access is the only real issue for me as it relates to this video
I agree. But between this and the hurricane video, the pubic may be getting the wrong idea about kiteboarding. When bans are being debated, will the officials remember these videos and next start thinking about liability?

Re: South Padre vs Corpus Christi

Did the hurricanes devistate the kiting spots in padre?
No, I just talked to a friend down there. He said they are cleaning up debris on the Gulf side that floated in from Ike, but they should be done soon.
I am heading down for Nov and already looking forward to it!

Re: question about jump height and distance

If Len10 is riding 25m lines, I'm guessing ~60ft on this one (~10 sec hang time)

Re: Kite weight

Kite weight make a difference in light wind flying, turning speed and adds to the chances of a hindenburg when you overfly the window.
Momentum is the reason turning speed is impacted.

Re: Why are fins so expensive???

I have used Omnitech fins on a number of boards.
The work fine, never heard any humming.
They are a slightly thicker than G10 but never noticed a difference.

Re: Planned Aussie Baja invasion

Some spots from San Fran south are: Rio Vista - flat warm Chrissy - bay 3rd Ave - bay Waddell/Scotts waves San Simeon area waves Pismo onshore wave...

Re: Planned Aussie Baja invasion

You might think of flying into Portland and then heading south. Lots of good spots between Portland and SF - Gorge and coast. April - Sept works for San Carlos (not sure time for best waves) April - Sept - SF May - Sept - Oregon? SF to FLA is a haul - ~3500 miles? I drive SF-SPI texas every year (20...

Re: Swell info for South Padre Island?

A trick is to kite down to where they start allowing cars on the beach. Then ask the ranger taking fees to call a cab. Its ~$12 to get back up to the jetty. The waves may not be huge, but they are fun and no crowds.
