Re: Slingshot wave sst 2016 vs 2017

Another question for you SST users...I've got a 2017 bar coming... 20" bar with 20m lines + 3m extensions. What do you all tend to fly your SSTs on? I know the theory behind shorter lines = more responsive but less power than longer lines. So what's best for the SST? I know it all depends on condit...

Signed. Windpower is great, but not everywhere.

Re: Please help and sign petition to save Cold Hawaii

Actually this project is 10kilometers to Cold Hawaii... From what I can see, the windmills are planned for Middles which is in Hanstholm near the fish factories. Middles is very good quite often. Usually better than Klitmoller, depending in the wind direction. For most people Klitmoller is just the...

Re: Please help and sign petition to save Cold Hawaii

They should definitely put some English info to their site. The spot is one of the best northern European wind- and kitesurfspots. It would be dramatic if it could not be used anymore. But is that so? Or will it only be less charming. I will probably sign anyway because windmills at the spot will pr...

Re: toeside 180 tack . . . anyone got advice

Basically, as always, just try again and again and again. It feels completely weird in the beginning but that changes with experience. Speed is helping. During the move I fly the kite only with the back hand. Then I fly the kite to the zenith and lean far into the wind. Kind of pushing the bar into ...

Re: Is it possible to kite a surf-foil?

It seems to be very personal. I tried it and didn´t like it at all. I can´t really imagine that it will become widespread for wavefoiling. But what do I know. To me it felt like kiting with a minimal or something similar. Much too much drag. Not as much fun as a short surfboard with a kite. I do bel...

Re: Slingshot Wave SST for 2017?

That's a very interesting point. Looking at the SS description they give a better upwind ability to the wave sst compared to the rpm. Myself, I never had any trouble going upwind with rpms. Would you say the upwind ability is actually worst? I was a bit surprised by the other comments. But I guess ...

Re: Slingshot Wave SST for 2017?

I didn't try rpm and SST head to head. But had rpm's before SSTs and had the feeling they have pretty similar pull. So, I would probably go for 7 & 9 if you liked that with the rpm's.

Re: Go Foil powered by a kite for waveriding

I have had two sessions with the Takuma Foil and SS SST 7m. Not thrilled so far. Too slow for my taste and very little room for error with small SS Dwarfcraft and 60cm mast. Today 6m SST in around 16 knots or so with my Ketos Wave foil and 90cm mast. I had so much more fun. I will try the Takuma wit...

Re: Slingshot wave Sst Self Launch

I have had the SSTs for two years now. Ridden in all kinds of winds. When it's light I usually use my board and in stronger winds I put some sand on the canopy. On one or both sides of the middle strut, depending on conditions. No problems at all like that. It's only more difficult when it is slippe...
