Re: Longevity of the FS Soul

I've had my 12m Soul for 4 years as I bought it used in 2019. I replaced the depower line on the bar as it was pretty badly frayed and sealed the seams on the top of the canopy. It flies well, but I don't know how many hours it has on it. On the other hand I've had my Speed 5 since 11/2016 and the o...

Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

Back in the early 2000's I owned a 21.5m Cabrinha Blacktip C kite, a 19.5m Airush Lift Pro C kite and a 20m Best Waroo SLE kite in 2006. The cost was not that much more in comparison to other size kites (I paid around $500 including bar and lines). It seems that if any kite manufacturers market a 20...

Flag out line shrinkage or too long depower line??

Normally I fly my 21m Speed 5 with the trim strap pulled about 1/2 to all the way in. A couple of days ago I was attempting a back down landing and when releasing the trim strap all the way out, the load transferred from the one center line to the flag out line with the one center line going slack. ...

Re: Slingshot Customer Support

I can't say enough good things about Slingshot's customer support. I had two issues where the items were out of warranty (by 3-6 months) and they came through with free replacement parts. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Re: High Pressure kite by Bruno Legaignoux

This is all very interesting. :thumb: TIlmann. How much pressure are you trying to achieve for a stable stiff leading edge? More than 90psi?

This may possibly be applicable for wings to reduce the LE diameter.

Re: A Flesh-Eating Pathogen Has Come for East Coast Beaches. It Can Kill You in 2 Days

This is the most infections I've seen here in Florida. Hurricane Ian caused a spike in 2022 and we may get another spike from hurricane Idalia this year. https://www.floridahealth.gov/diseases-and-conditions/vibrio-infections/vibrio-vulnificus/index.html The link says "Water and wounds do not mix. D...

Re: If you see this coming, would we have enough time?

Pre hurricane Idalia - outer bands coming in. This was just after I got off the water (was winging with an 8m wing). There were two kiters nearby that quit before I got off the water.

Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

I can only imagine a crash and relaunch with 2 or more stacked kites.
