Hi and welcome to kitesurfing. You dont mention whether you have got lessons or not. Do it - the alternative is not a shortcut. In re your weight, dont believe all the regular skinny guys who tell you that you just need a regular board and kite. I did (240lbs) and it took me many months of wallowing...

I got a very good North one last year - approx €90 - took two boards, two kites and harnesses, has wheels but no backpack. Robust and well padded. Mine was 160cm but there is also a shorter (and cheaper) one available.

If the same rules apply as to sailing, then each should pass to the starboard (right side) of the other. Therefore the guy with the cam should have altered his course to pass the yellow kite to the right. This changes slightly when approaching a buoy where vessels have to give each other 'water' or ...

Riding in about 10knots with my twintip Raptor pro 132x41. I weight 85kgs. Terrible wind conditions that day 6-13knts, I didnt even use my race or surf board. I am glad i didnt go for the Zeph!

I went with my wife and four kids and two grannies (only the dog left at home) last June for two weeks. Stayed at the Indian Resort at Le Morne. Excellent facilities: waves for the experts and huge waist deep lagoon for beginners. Hotel was fine (recommend all-inclusive) and had wind on ten out of 1...
