Re: Hydrofoil low end (~7-11knots)

I always wrap the lines, but I still end up tangled by the "hair lines" of the canopy every single time with the 13m, and then, my fear is that of losing the foil while I'm trying to recover the kite: the foil moves away, and I can't reach it anymore because the submerged kite is an incredibly effe...

Hope you can see it better on the pictures below.
Evan - thanks a lot. Indeed, now I see how it works. Brilliant, can't believe that this is really reliable, but will test myself. - Tom

Re: Hydrofoil low end (~7-11knots)

... ... Peaks sink a meter or more below the surface, where they can get caught in currents leading away from the beach. Not funny at all. So: a Peak will give you the absolute lowest wind foilability (together with a large, efficient foil), it will never fall by itself, and it's a pleasure to use....

Re: Infexion Max bar / Seatbelt Quick Release

In rockclimbing dyneema sliding on dyneema is a no no , bc of melting the fabric. The intention to make the rig free of metal is good, but aren`t we talking about a tiny steel ring what is saved for this solution. https://flysurfer.com/files/2020/06/RACEControlBar_SingleFrontlineSafety-1.jpg If I a...

Re: Infexion Max bar / Seatbelt Quick Release

Tom I just assumed it was two loops interlocked but studying the photo it looks like it might be the splice hitch I use to attach my harness runner to the shackle pins I have on my spreader bar. Herman - thanks. Are you attaching the shackle pin by putting it through both loops (what I assume), or ...

Re: Infexion Max bar / Seatbelt Quick Release

It's just a piece of rope with two loops spliced into it but making the second one interlocking before splicing. Thanks Evan an the others for explaining. I still feel completely stupid and have no clue about the system: - Are the two loops done on different ends of the rope? If not, how can you sp...

Re: Infexion Seatbelt Quick Release

... It is just a loop of sk99 500 with two interlocking loops where the thickened flagout line sits underneath as the loops get pulled tight under tension but still allow the power lines to flagout easily. ... Dear Evan - thanks and this is indeed a very interesting solution. However, I can''t see ...

Re: Foiling kite 8-13kn on a budget

Check the Gong Unik or Strutless. I have both of them and Strutless in size 10 is perfect for light wind foiling. Unik size 10.2 also. Very budget friendly and good quality kites. I have the Gong 10m strutless but don't find it easy / quick to relaunch below 9 knots. Maybe my lack of experience, it...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

I have the Peak 13 and I can foil from 6 knots on a big wing, but need 7 knots to go upwind (82 kg). As others already said, I also prefer it over the Soul. For me the Soul is terrible for a beginner on a foil, especially strapless. Totally reluctant to turn, no constant power delivery, power comes...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

i admit i haven't read all the 140+ pages of this thread, so maybe this has already been answered. But the 30 or so pages I have read seem to indicate this kite in a 13M isn't a good light wind kite. I guess i don't understand why it wouldn't be given it's lightness. I'm looking into getting a foil...
