Re: august-MIAMI

August is one of the least windy months here, although this summer has been much better than most so far, with about 1 to 3 days a week of rideable wind and even some 20 knot days. If you bring anything, bring your 11. I'm not sure if you can rent kites at either of these two places, but the two loc...

Re: Puerto Rico Carribean Racing Championships

Congrats Damo! I don't have the exact points breakdown, but I've heard from some people there that it went Damien, Adam, Julien like Alex mentioned. Apparently Damo won 11 of the 13 races.

Re: Kiteshops in SF???

Helm of Sun Valley has a fantastic selection, a very knowledgeable staff, and some great deals. Talk to Jerry, Garry, Greg, or anyone else there and they'll point you in the right direction.

Re: Wetsuits for Autumn/Winter

Good point Peter. Velcro ankle straps are essential in addition to the Aquavents. These come standard on all NPX and Neilpryde suits as Galeltic mentioned.

On NPX suits, the ankle straps are removable, so you don't have to wear them if you want to just go out surfing or paddleboarding.

Re: Wetsuits for Autumn/Winter

Lyapa looks like you're closer to finding your match than a poster on here who suggested a men's suit. The NPX Sinner 5/4/3 is a fantastic WOMEN'S cold-weather suit. I work for NPX, so of course I'm being completely bias, but if you have a local store where you can try one on, I'm sure you'd be thri...

Re: Which Winter Wetsuit?

Yea it's nice to have Aquavents like in the NPX Zealot and Assassin. I can't stand the old "balloon leg". I've been stoked with my 4/3 Assassin Front Zip. It kept me toasty in the Gorge this past spring and in the bizarre 45 degree days we had in Miami this winter. Where are you located Mog? I could...

Re: Stone Harbor, New Jersey

It's a shame they closed "The Point" in Stone Harbor for kiting. It was my local spot for years. It can take just about any wind direction and has flatwater and wave areas. You can also kite down near 60th street though. Sorry I don't remember the exact street. In addition to Rich, you can also stop...

Re: paddle board kiteboarding

I resorted to this a few times in these light Miami winds. As long as I could keep the kite in the air, I could go upwind. Like mv said, you definitely have to take step back over the fins once you get going. Turning around takes patience. Boosting is pretty hard. I recently got a raceboard and a 16...
