Good point. My back doesn't like the compressions of the upstroke.

Has anyone pulled apart a cheapo standard pump and seen if it is easy to disable the upstroke pump action?

Re: Why no stopper nozzle on my new Naish!!

Seeming this question of stopper valve has come up I thought I jump in about the Cabrihna Switchblade valve of 2008. This is relevant to me as I just bought an 8m second hand. What was the thinking there? This is where there is an extra attachment that is screwed onto the air valve with a bayonet fi...

As for the price, seems a good deal, enjoy your new kite :thumb:
Ditto.

8m Switchblade3 as second kite under Takoon Nova2 12m?

I have a Takoon Nova2 12m which I'll be hanging onto for a bit longer and am looking for a smaller kite to complement it. I have found a SB3 8m and wonder if it would fit okay under my Nova2 12m? After reading about the SB3 having a good deal of bottom end I wonder if it is the appropriate kite for ...

Re: Differnce between waist and seat harness?

Thanks Peter, you've touched on a couple of points I hadn't considered. I'm still green and not even jumping yet. But what got me thinking was that with my transitions when I send the kite to the other side I feel, as you say, squeezed by the harness riding up. Then I started thinking about what it'...

Differnce between waist and seat harness?

After a quick search and a read of the recent post about waist harness with back problem I got wondering about what the differences in ride and/or feel are with either type of harness. I have windsurfed for years and much prefer a waist, but have recently started kiting again and am curious if a sea...

Advice on 4/5 line bar mods please

Hi, I am doing a revamp on my 4line bar. I am getting back into kiting and thought I'd use my old C kites a bit more. I am using an older releasable Naish chicken loop, and am installing a 5th line which I will attach a leash to and use as the safety. Q1: Is it okay to have a non-Wichard quick relea...

Yep, I always use the second method Peter mentioned, except that I use my index finger (that's what kiteboarding is all about right, technique!). I never had the pinch power to shut those babies like others did. When I take out the nozzle I quickly slide my finger over the valve, in one quick moveme...

Great, Does what you have done with your 15.5 look like the sketch in the link below? (couldn't work out how to post a pic in this message) http://gallery.kiteforum.com/albums/albuo51/Wing_tip.jpg So, you are sure 20cm is the magic number? Just want to be sure before I do any cutting. And this reall...

Ray,

How was it modified for faster turning?

I too have an old 15.5 AR5 which i use from time to time. I'd like to adjust mine if it's not too much of a hassle. Thanks for any info.

Petter.
