Re: Down Sizing Foil Board for Kite

Jibe is turn. Footswitch is footswitch. Sounds like you are well ahead of me as I can jibe but not switch my feet in either direction. I downsized from 135 to a Kanaha Shapes 42” (107cm) and it was the best thing I did once I could ride well in both directions. There is still plenty of space (proba...

Re: North 2023 EXPLODED on the beach

Sounds like a random production defect to me. That happens. That's rotten luck , a long time ago I had a brand new best Waroo explode the first time I pumped it up. Right next to the inflate valve ripped the strut to bits as well as the bladder. Best gave me a new kite no questions, their explanati...

Re: When did you switch to shorter foil boards?

I spent my first kitefoiling year on F-one IC6 V3 + F-one Pocket Carbon 130cm. After this year, I had a 95% success ratio with a footswitches, easily doing gybes how I want them (no footswitch during the maneuver though), starting to have some successes with upwind tacks, sometimes was able to sit ...

Re: Upgrade or Update

To explain ........ more often than not when I come off the foil it does not float flat, rather it goes tail down vertically with about 20 cm of the nose point upwards (the mast is more or less horizontal under the water) it does not drift downwind ......... I am quite capable of body dragging back...

Re: Upgrade or Update

Sorry, but this doesnt make sense to me... If the mast sinks, the whole setup will drift downwind and you can retrieve the board/foil. Much worse if it floats on its side - can be really difficult to get back to the foil  Regarding foot switches, I will say it doesnt matter at all if heavy or...

Re: Upgrade or Update

Thanks......yes heavy for sure , slow I don't mind within reason as log as the fact doesn't slow my progression. Last week I had a look at a Lift foil, it seemed very nicely made.... how robust are they?

Upgrade or Update

I have a Cabrinha Highrise Carve foil (2020) with their Secret agent board. It's the second kitefoil setup I have owned it's let me progress reasonably given my time constraints. I am aware that the setup isn't light (85cm mast and top plate weigh 2.3 kg), and sometimes when i fall the board floats ...

Re: Kite valves delaminated

I reglued all the valves on my 2009 Best Nemesis 5 years ago using 3M 5200 red and the kite still holds air rock solid today. Tried the peel and stick valve on another kite and it only lasted less than a year - must have been a bad batch. Thanks for the Adhesive info, Aquaseal is almost impossible ...

Re: Switching Stance?

The best time to practice is whenever you can get on the water, the hard part is getting away to be able to kite ;(
