Opinions on 08' Naish Thorn kiteboard?

I demo'd a used board that I'm thinking about buying, but it was a crappy day and didn't get a good idea of how the board really was. It seemed a bit "squishy/ flimsy"-not as much "pop" as other boards I've ridden(like I said though, bad day for a test ride). Anyone out there ridden the 2008 Thorn a...

Differences between 5 and 4 line kites?

I used a 5 line North Rebel my first dozen times learning. The area where I learned has a very light wind(sometimes no wind) area near the beach for maybe 100 feet until you reached the wind line. There were times where my kite would just fall from the sky and tumble "inside-out"because there was no...

Re: Question for surfers

I'd rather error on the side of too big a board rather than too small. I don't know about where you live, but I'm sure surfing is crowded everywhere, and having a little extra board is going to help you "compete" for waves much better. In a perfect world where all the waves are uncrowded, juicy and ...

Re: Scared of Jumping anymore-need advice.

mahalo for the responses. Based on the advice, I have a pretty good idea on what I did wrong. I was using a smaller kite for the first time and the thing moved way faster than the bigger kite I had been doing all of my previous jumps with. Chances are I threw the thing way too fast and forward acros...

Scared of Jumping anymore-need advice.

I'm learning to jump and I've pulled off a handful of nice ones. Even when I crash. My landings have never been that scary. Even if I don't parachute down. I don't crash so hard that I feel like I don't want to ever try airs again, but just when I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. I decide t...

Any opinions on Naish Haze kiteboard?

I was told they are for beginner to intermediate? Will I outgrow it since I'm about an intermediate-level rider now? Their website says they're also good for experts because of their flex and control in choppier water. Has anyone out there ridden one and got an opinion? Also, I'm 210 pounds and live...

what size stuff for bigger kiter?

I'm 210 pounds and it seems like the average kiteboarder around here is smaller than me-maybe in the 175 pound range. When I see the majority of people using 9m kites, for example. I'll rig a 9m and feel underpowered much of the time. I'd consider my skill level at about intermediate. When I'm havin...

Re: bladder problems

thankyou for the advice. I will try everything you suggested. I'm new to kiteboarding and this has been totally frustrating. Hopefully one of those things will work. :D

Re: Is it true, people give up Kiteboarding!!??

I've got 2 friends that have practically given it up. They hate all the lines and pumping and time spent repairing and untangling when things go wrong. They both prefer the simplicity of surfing where all you need is a board and some wax.

bladder problems

I installed a new bladder and it still leaks. I found a small hole and repaired it- went kiting just to have it leak again and have it fold up on me out in the water. I've looked all over the sleeve to see if there is a thorn stuck in there, but can't find anything. How to I figure out how this thin...
