Re: Wingfoiling learning process

I think that's totally unrealistic. Kitefoiling you start with your feet in place, whereas to do that on a wing would require a lot of wind, which would be a hassle once you're up on a foil. Starting on your knees is pretty much a required stage for most "normal" people. (There are mutant freaks am...

Re: Wingfoiling learning process

Good report, thanks for sharing. Has anyone here tried to learn directly on a sinker board? It seems to me that maybe that approach is most similar to the kitefoil waterstart. “Just” balance a little in the water (yep, so easy to say), then use the wing to pull you up/forward and get going. I think...

Any suggestions for a better strategy to take the phone with me? I'll operate it through an apple watch.
How do you operate the phone through the watch when wet? I’m not clear if you have to turn off the wet screen lock of the watch (could be impractical) before you can make or answer calls.

Re: Hydrofoil storm kite options

Hey Guys I'm always excited by storms and bored by normal conditions..so looking at storm kites. Currently the smallest is 3m Peak4. Can someone compare 3m peak with 2.8 BRM cloud or is anything better out there to handle sudden gusts and lulls? hard to say but wind range like 25-45 knots. What I f...

Re: Duotone Quick Mount

I am a bit confused about why they put the bolt on the back side. Mechanically it would make more sense to put it on the front in compression as the pivot part looks a lot stronger than a single bolt in tension. Assuming that the bolt is strong enough -- the part that confuses me is that the bolt i...

Re: Has anyone kite foiled on the new downwind "needle" boards

Am a bit tired of swimming large distances in summer when wind drops below 3-4 knots and I have to self rescue the big 16m foilkite. Not that I don't like swimming but girlfriend and mates on shore often worry or have to wait :D How hard would it be to ride close to shore when it blows 3-4 knots? I...

Re: Do I need (depower) trim for Peak4?

I am building a ultralight compact bar for ski touring use of the Peak4 5m. I want to keep things at the absolute minimum, both in weight and pack size. What´s your opinion on the need of a depower trim or not for an ultra light ski touring and uphill climbing bar setup? Even if I rarely use the de...

Re: Foiling foot-switch hack

All foot switch videos out there are wrong: I can’t remember even one that talked about how very important the foil is. What you want is a foil with enhanced pitch and roll stability. Say a bigger wing BUT with a longer fuse and a larger stab, and avoid the short masts. Once you get the hang of the...
