.. core pig tails on both center lines failed at the same time.. about 1 year old.. did not look as frayed as the OP picture..
Thanks. This is a very convincing documented confirmation they can actually be dangerous. 2 at the same time!!!

Re: Are my pigtails dangerously worn?

Yes, if you see many fibers sticking out away from the line, it is faded in the case of colored line, it is time to change the line out. If you see a broken bunch of fibers like in the first photo, it is past time to replace it. Thanks. Just to clarify - The 2 photos show the same pair of pigtails ...

Are my pigtails dangerously worn?

These pigtails on the end of my bar lines have a couple of spots were they bend very easily. Feels like they are "broken" inside. I have replaced them but was not sure if they are still basically OK? Sometimes you get the same effect on kite 's connections which are much more difficult to replace, h...

Re: Progression Tips

Shift your weight back to turn the board upwind, actually to turn the board at all Shift your weight forward to stop the upwind drive so you don’t go too far and stall it and to increase speed Gross oversimplification but front foot is gas pedal, rear foot is steering Absolutely. I pictured it to m...

Re: Progression Tips

I think I possibly had the same problem because I was undersheeting all the time. When you sheet in any kite moves to the edge of the window IMHO. At least this is what happens on the beach during launch. When you depower - kite is deeper in the window (goes downwind until gaining enough angle of at...

Re: Shinn Ronson Chromatic 21 sizing?

I'm not and expert here and this divides opinions on this board, but if you like the Crazyfly board you will notice a fairly significant difference going down to 144x43. In some respect I do need a different board for powered conditions, so I hope to notice a big difference :thumb: Of course -compa...

Re: Shinn Ronson Chromatic 21 sizing?

Yeah I have a cheap Crazyfly Allround 148x48 and it works pretty well for me in low/medium powered conditions. Less rocker and different shape and pretty soft. but I really like its planing ability. So I guess 144x43 is my best size for Ronson? Any smaller is probably not a good idea?

Shinn Ronson Chromatic 21 sizing?

Sorry did not find direct numbers on this anywhere - here or the Web. Improving beginner to intermediate level 90 kg. Saw this sizing table on a shop's page - is this basically correct? I am not looking for 10m+ jumps, may be 3m eventually :D : Shinn Ronson - 138 x 41 - rider weight: 72-82kg Shinn R...

Re: What is the angle of the canopy "wing/sail" to the lines?

As you know aerofoils produce lift and suffer drag. It is only convention to show the aerodynamic forces that way as it makes the analysis easier, but the forces could be resolved in other ways such as a single force at an angle to the chord. Arguably better for kite analysis as this would be helpf...
