Re: Tip curling - luffing or arc and cell pressure

here's what I don't understand, why would the profile moment adjuster those internal things inside each cell have to be adjusted because a kite has aged? Main isue with older kites is inside preesure that decreases slowly with each session, as small holes from sewing incraese in size. My understand...

Re: Tip curling - luffing or arc and cell pressure

In my experience PMA have a greater effect in the kites behavior when the bar is out.
I do not now the influence of these changes on overall kite performance, but they solved the problem of tip collapse permanently in my gusty lake conditions

Re: Tip curling - luffing or arc and cell pressure

IMHO the reason of tip collapse may origin in the differece of camber in center part v tip. If the center have big camber it is slow and sits in the back of the wind window. If the tip have small camber, it is fast and sits in front of wind window and thats why it is more prone to collapse. To cure ...

Re: Kiteboarding while it's raining?

Most annoying are freezing rains and wet snows.
They stick to canopy, quickly making it several times heavier.
Especially with foil kites.
If snow gets inside, relounch will be impossile.

Re: Race foil tuning warm vs cold water

But viscosity does as flying grandpa writes. Ask someone at a towing tank for ships why they measure the temperature so accurately. Even if the density doesn't change much, the viscous effects change massively in summer and winter or even morning/afternoon between some test runs and therefore need ...

Re: Race foil tuning warm vs cold water

Warm v cold water make a difference. At 4 Celsius water has max density. Also viscosity is almost 2 times higher than at 20C. Both this factors increase substantially dynamic forces ( lift- coused by underpressure) at given speed. Unfortunately, surface tension that counteracts mast ventilation rise...

Re: flysurfer sonic3, any news?

I’ve got a 9 and 13 Sonic3 on the way. What’s the best strategy for a) avoiding bow ties and b) recovering from one? I’m coming from 100 sessions on Souls. Thx! Hi noahsw You can avoid bow ties by: •foilng in steady winds, •keeping line tension especially during gybes- tighten the turns using wide ...
