Wow, just wow. That is amazing! :o The second video is my favourite, I was staring at the streamers you mounted, and I watched with astonishment as they indicated first a following wind then a headwind. Amazing stuff, congratulations. I can't remember when these "Direct Downwind" threads first start...

So I bought a naish arx 15.5 with a 18" liquid force bar for $250 Would have to agree, that's a very old kite (2002 I think) and a terrible kite to be learning on compared to more modern kites. It's not just a case of "latest and greatest", kites manufacturers have made some massive technical gains...

IAre there formal instructional ratings in kiteboarding? Yes and No. There is a the IKO (Internation Kiteboarding Organisation) who certify instructors and schools, but there is some debate as to the merit of that certification due to the perceived money grabbing activities of the IKO. You should listen to other people with more knowledge about the whole situations and their opinions as well. But the people you're talking to are the competitors. I don't doubt that many competitors see the IKA and "big money" as a good thing, but they are less than 1% of kiters, so it doesn't real...
