Real Light Wind Showdown

I'm starting a new thread because the "Take Tech Out Disappointment" thread is getting a little long. Real competition is the way in any sport to really find out which equipment performs the best. From development-class sailboats to racing cars, seasoned racers know which design is best, even if it ...

I finally tried my 16 m Crossbow today, and I think one of its strengths is jumping ability. Because of the range, you can ride heavily depowered until you send the kite back. Then sheet the kite in all the way and you go up like an elevator and float.

Flydoor is ok, unless you remove the fins and don't cover the holes with tape (bladder repair tape stays). Without tape, the front heel-edge fin-holes create a little jet of water that shoots straight at your eye.

I ride with some guys that fly Flysurfer kites, and I have no doubt that the 26 m Psycho 2 is the absolute bottom end champion, but not a fast kite. Sort of a diesel tractor kite. Boards are so important for bottom end. My Flydoor will keep me upwind (185 lbs) with my 19.5 Contra in 8-9 knots (about...

Look at your pump. It probably states the volume per pump. I think my Cabrinha pump says 2 litres.

Then count the number of full strokes that it takes to fill the bladder, but not pressurize it. Then you'll know the volume of the bladder.

Lac Bay is the beautiful lagoon that would be great for kiteboarding if it wasn't banned there. People I talked to said there were lots of reasons that it was banned and none of the reaons were good ones. It seems that the guys running windsurfing outfits are friendly with government officials or so...

Will the powerlock retrofit perfectly to kites sold before the release?

It would be nice to know if and when Cabrinha will include a powerlock feature. I think I want one of these kites, but I I'll be really disappointed if a lock is introduced after I buy one. Anyone...? Anyone...? Also, I agree that an infinitely adjustable powerlock feature would be a great developme...
