Re: Peak 4 landing @ top end LE or TE down

Stall handles make landing foils in high winds painless and easy. Especially in high winds. Even more so on the Peak. De-trim, bar completely out, pull stall and you can land directly in the window if needed. Anchor the handle, disengage from the system, go grab your kite. In extreme situations,, br...

Re: Singleskin kite for winter

Full disclosure I sell the Peak and I formally sold the Shaman. Both are great kites in their own right. There used to be a bit of back and forth development-wise between the two. As it stands now, I feel the Peak 5 has better flight quality and is more refined, and is more of an All Rounder whereas...

Re: Question about Peak B-Safe line dimensions

I disagree Y vs V. With V-bar my Peak4 5m partially collapses ie turns lower tip in on gusty wind. Zero stability problems with FS Y-bar. Interesting. All of our Peaks are set up with low V and haven't exhibited that behavior. High Y is a PITA here as our wind will often cause inverts or bowties. L...

Re: From Florida, looking to make a road trip north to snow kite somewhere

Winter Has been slow to get it together here in New England. You're going to have to come at least this far North to find anything even close to snowkiting. We've had a roller coaster of conditions. Snow, then warm. Snow then warm. This was shot a couple of weeks ago about 2 hrs North of my location...

Seems to do ok... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75Izl46iTqQ I remember the first time I saw that vid sitting at my desk in a completely different life. :-) Its the one I always think of when people try to impress upon me this "New" wing thing. Must drive the retailers of "Kitewing" (skimbats)craz...

Re: Ice Carver - The only solution for Ice Kiting

It's interesting for sure. Superior? Not so sure but a great design idea nonetheless. IMO (this of course never having ridden it myself so take this with a grain) I think the key benefit is the general feel, that it is likely more akin to a normal edge feel. And the Multiple contact points may have ...

Re: Peter Lynn Charger 15m (V1?)

If it is not one of the defective units the Charger 1 is one of the best Arcs ever made. As stated, its not like other foil kites and you need wingtip spars to fly it. Anything will work as long as the length is correct and they are stiff enough. Internal pressure is critcal for successful launch if...

Re: Peter Lynn Venom

Think of sizing similar to LEI. They are consummate high/gusty wind kites. Models like the original Phantom,Phantom 2 or F-arc are the best up winders.

F-Arcs were the closest to being a "Light wind" arc.

Re: How much of an annoyance are hourglass skis?

Da Yoda nails it. If you want to get a non-indemnified binding serviced or if you want to be set at a DIN setting outside spec's, shops have the option of having you sign a waiver. But most won't take it on. In regard to how side cut affects the ride. It depends a lot on how hard you engage the edge...

If I had a bucket list, kiting Baikal would be on it. That looks amazing.
