Re: Freeride kite for hydrofoiling

Having used North Rebels 7,10,12 when learning to foil I have found a similar issue. They are great kites and likely some of the best for what they are designed. During this last summer however I used both the North Mono 10 (1 strut) and the Airush Ultra 15. In lighter conditions the light weight of...

Re: Low Aspect to High Aspect

I am going in the opposite direction. Learnt on a high aspect Taaroa foil which really just required getting used to the speed. That speed however, gave the foil a fairly high level of yaw and roll stability. I am moving to trying out a more medium aspect Alpine V3 with a Wave wing. Just arrived and...

Re: Kite choices for foiling in high winds ?

There are some light air foiling kites that come in very small sizes. Thinking that a light air kite is all about light winds, what is a 5m Mono or Ultra designed for? Kids, small women ? or is it ok to just use it in high winds?

Re: Alpine wave wing.

Awesome product line with the ability to use several different wings for different styles and mastheads to match most other boards. Well engineered design, seems like they have it all together. The new V3 rostrum (nose) is more rounded along with some other minor changes. In looking for a slower mor...

Re: The New 2018 Airush Core Foil Series Out Now

Yah! Nuff about that minor design gripe bullshit. We got bigger fish to fry, Yo. How about that foil design huh. Looks great, always wondered if that V tail would have a good effect, both being out of the wing turbulence and providing some additional yaw stability. wot say u ?

Re: 5th line necessary to relaunch from snow/water ?

Just Google "North bar and lines diagram" . ALL kitesurfing kites are a minimum of four lines. The center line that you are looking at allows the bar to slide up and down to allow for depower (sheeting) of the kite . Further up that center line there is a 'Y' in the lines where the two front lines s...

That video is likely a red herring from the Kiwi's who will have some other plan to show up with on race day. This way Team Oracle will have spent all of Larry's money trying to make that thing work. lol. Remember boys, pump with your legs.

Dumb question. Could a square rigged clipper actually go upwind ? Probably not well I'm thinking.

Re: Kai Lenny's new foil

That front wing is quite different than the Tuna. Much lower aspect and greater surface area, quite flat with just the tips turned down. Slow enough to stay on the wave with lots of lift .The bastard child of a LF - Thrust union perhaps.

What Facebook sequence?

Re: North Kiteboarding Issue 11/2017 - Foil

PS The "wedge" diagram is wrong. The text says the wedge lets you foil at lower speed. The diagram shows "with wedge" foiling at higher speed. A special wedge was created to adjust the angle of the rear wing. This allows the foil to fly at lower speeds, which are less intimidating for first-time fl...
