Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Rode my Peak 4 5m with a surfboard in 18 odd knots and solid swell for a downwinder today. Was thrilled to find it worked as well if not better than my wave kites. The instant off depower seemed more pronounced on the SB but super handy on a wave to be able to shut off the kite. I wasn’t riding down...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

I got my first Peak ( and FC bar) today - I’ve ridden the P4 5m twice and was able to purchase one today. I’ve not ridden the 4 yet but expect I’ll probably get one eventually. I’m heavy at 95kg and riding axis S foil 680 wing. My local spot is a ocean / flat water (wind chop <1ft), typically 18-22...

Re: Best hydrofoil wave kite: ConceptAir Firefly vs. Flysurfer Peak 4

Excellent video Horst. I especially love the unhooked riding with slack likes - proper wave foiling. Our regular downwinder is approx 10km among metropolitan beaches here in Perth, WA. Our waves are Lefts which suits me as I’m goofy too. I will try and demo a Peak 4 from our local shop - they have a...

Re: Anyone know any details on the new upcoming foil from Flysurfer?

Than why in flysurfer technical data in wind range of sonics is written data that for example 18 sonics can start hydrofoil from 4 knots ?? But zenit stay is from 5 knots. Because it’s quite possible to hydrofoil in conditions below which a kite will sit at zenith. You just need to keep the kite mo...

Re: Help with Ben Wilson Surf Slow Leak

I’ve just had a similar issue with a 2016 Aeneema I bought secondhand. They have a Boston style deflate valve which consists of 2 parts. A rubber o ring was missing, resulting in a slow leak from the valve itself. Hard to detect via the usual methods

Re: Kite size recommendations for first foil kite?

As we know foil kites offer a larger wind range for a given size compared to an LEI. I’ve found a useful guide is plus/minus 2 square meters on either side of its stated size. So a 10m foil would cover a similar windrange to an 8m lei (high end) and 12m for low end. This might help you work out whic...

Re: Do you need to rinse kites?

Only in salt water when I drop them :) next I cover them in sand when packing them up, so fold them into their bag and leave them for the next session.

Sand is round and salt water won’t grow mould. I avoid fresh water incl rain like the plague.

Re: Surf Foils for Kiteboarding?

Hi Gunnar, Ok maybe I was a bit dramatic so I’ve updated my post I never tried to ride fast with it and found my experience was to average around 10-12kmh according to the Gps logs. This also made it perfect for what I wanted it to do - I love it. I tried riding it underpowered with a 5m LEI in arou...
