Re: Long mast - is it a con?

Ride what you like. Try a lot of different stuff if you can, but don’t put too much emphasis on first impressions, as it takes some time to get comfortable on different setups and really understand the benefits. I recommend any kitefoiler at least get comfortable with an 85-90cm mast, as that’s the ...

Re: Surface Sliding Foil ?

Looks awesome!

But I fear for the foil components and bolts! 😬

Re: F-One Diablo flagging?

I rarely drop my 18m Diablo v4, but I only ride it on foil. Once you know the behavior and what to expect, it’s easy enough to back stall it into the power zone to fix wingtip issues. On the occasion I let it out too much at the edge of the window and it collapses in a wind gust or switch, I more of...

Re: Relaunching for beginners

Nice video!! One thing: while most beginners are on a kite with enough struts and enough wind to relaunch by pulling center lines when it’s backstalled onto its ass in the middle of the window, this doesn’t always work. In light wind or on some kites this doesn’t work and you have to learn how to pu...

Re: LF thruster bumpy ride on Al fuse

You didn’t notice the feeling of hitting bait fish on your slower surfier foils but now on the thruster you feel them more. It’s not the foil, it’s the fish and stuff in the water. Chesapeake Bay in summer is often so full of jellies, bait fish, and whatnot that it can be unfoilable with small fast ...

Re: The double use of big pumps

👍

I’ve used an old kite pump to start a garden hose gravity siphon flowing to drain my crawl space under my house after it flooded. The pump started filling with a bit of water towards the end but still worked and easy to just disassemble and dump it out.

Re: strapless boards are too flat

Ok, you’re right about the geometry that elevating the front foot with legs equal length means back foot moves forward and therefore has more pressure, all else being equal. But theory aside, we ride very different foils, kites, harness, etc. I wonder if we’d end up with swapped preferences if we sw...

How big is your board?

I completely agree with you. Im making all types of strapless boards Surfskate, surfboard, Foilboard, snowsurf and this is type of interface I aim for. You need to be spread on board not just standing.
The board length is about 105cm/41inches.

Re: strapless boards are too flat

Reviving this thread because it’s worth reviewing. Benefits of angled or high rocket pocket boards: 1. Better touch downs without pearling. 2. More front foot control, more grip and friction between foot and slightly angled surface than horizontal surface. 3. Better traction means more control at hi...

Re: Super cheap but good board - board prices are insane

Aren't your front leg bent a tad then? Problem with slightly angled pocket boards is this, or you have to stand narrow to have both legs okay straight. The angle has to be very small at least. 8) PF No, your legs can still be straight on angled or high rocker pocket boards, it just changes your foo...
