Re: Three strut Hybrid C kites for foiling?

Any 3 strut kite works for 10+ kts. If you want to excell at under 10 kts, you need a one or no strut kite or foil kite. Otherwise, prepare for regular swim practice.

Re: Best Lightweight Versatile Surfboard

DSD Stallion definitely has peaked my interest. But the cost of that board may be prohibitive to the fun budget. I’m gonna look into it. How’s the Naish Skater vs Duotone Whip CSC vs FW Evo/Vader? For freestyle play (30% of the time), does the lighter weight make a huge difference for the average su...

Re: Which Kites and lines lenght are most people using for 30 to 50 knots

80 kg and 6' Jimmy Lewis Shack. Gorge and coastal rides. Or the same kite foiling in 20-25knts. The 5m Wave sits deeper in the window so you don't get the crazy surges as you do with other more-forward flying kites. Probably any wave kite is better with the gusty conditions that usually accompanies ...

5m SS Wave and surfboard in 30-35, gusting to 45. Best kite I’ve had in big, gusty wind.

Best Lightweight Versatile Surfboard

I'm looking to find a lightweight, versatile surfboard with inserts for the occasional storm ride. There are very few reviews with kite specific surfboard comparisons. I'm looking for the following characteristics: lightweight, surfing up to medium waves, inserts for big, stormy days at sea, decent ...

My 2008 SS T3 had pulleys on the bar. That 14m was a beast!

Re: Slingshot Ghost Whisper 91 2019 imput needed

I ride the 2019 GW SS 633 with a SS DC 54". The foil is all the way back, front straps all the way forward and no back strap. I find my back foot is well forward of any back strap placement options. So if I wanted to ride with a back strap as well, I'd need to shim. But with my current setup, I find...

Re: Bend Oregon Kitesurfing/Snowkiting?

I’m from Bend and have seen this same question posed on nwkite more than once. As stated above, no one moves to Bend for wind. Yes, you can get get some cool sessions occasionally at the local alpine lakes. But in reality, when you have world class kite spots in the gorge and Oregon coast just 2-4 h...

Re: Do all kites invert equally?

I’m wondering if the delta shape is just front heavy. Slack lines maybe results in a nose dive more likely than other kites. I’m no engineer obviously. Just a thought.
