Mine is 2015 and is not wood, I don't think, but it is pretty sturdy.
Pretty sure both 2012 and 2015 Makos are wood core.

Re: I broke my back, compressions - anyone done similar?

Broken neck surgery ...I've only been kiteboarding once since then but that is a location thing really. You've only been kiteboarding once since 8 years ago ? Meant to write Snowboarding. ..fixed it. Pain in the ass to snowboard now, just a lot of work to fly, fly with gear, car rental, hotel, rest...

Re: I broke my back, compressions - anyone done similar?

Broken neck surgery when I was 50 about 8 years ago.. surgeon fused C6, C5, C4, C3 plus a titanium plate and 8 screws. That leaves me with movement between C3 and C2 only really. Doctors told me to never skateboard, kiteboard, mountain bike, snowboard or do any overhead work again. Took about three ...

Re: Appropriate length for single line flagging?

My first bars were home-made with a non releasable closed loop (so no donkey dick) getting out required pulling in and down off the hook. My first factory bar was a 2005 Slingshot, worked well enough, had oh-shit handles on both sides. Above bar swivels don't work and I think should be eliminated, s...

Re: Appropriate length for single line flagging?

Kite companies have done a mediocre job on many bar systems, I wonder how much thought they put into the safety release system. Core decided that a push away chicken loop release like everyone else was not gonna cut it. Clearly a couple companies have spent a massive amount of time on their game cha...

Re: Appropriate length for single line flagging?

The old rule was logical and I understood why. But with bridled kites configured the way most of them have been for the last 4-5 years, I've used about half of the old rule (six meters) on a few of my bars and it has gotten the job done. My kites are 7.5M/10.5M/13M so nothing tiny or huge. I wondere...

Re: Same boom and length on lines for rpm 12 and rpm 9?

There are a number of bars that can be changed from 45mm to 55mm in ten seconds, they would be a great option.
But as stated above a 20" Slingshot bar will do fine also.
