Re: 2015 Naish Fusion bar destroyed during self rescue

All this aside, I still don't see OP's incident as a safety issue. Inconvenience and shitty to have happen for sure, but not something that would warrant a recall of any sort. In principle OP could use the bar right now. From what I've read from the OP posts, I have to disagree. Yes, in principle h...

Re: Gong Hellvator - 1rst KBHF with both foils providng pos

Regarding deep tuttle, despite the fact that it may be impossible to adapt some existing boards due to the lack of thickness, I guess it makes a lot of sense to use it with a hydrofoil. :thumb: No wonder Taaroa is now using what they call Probox, which seems to be about as deep as a deep tuttle (wit...

Re: Boardriding Maui Paipo, lightwind..or any wind.

Ah ok, easier to push around. :thumb: Also for these tack tricks you need some lift by the kite so volume of the board doesn't matter at the moment then. The positive thing about the quick movement it is you can pay more attention to the kite to keeps things work and then progress faster. Yeah, that...

Re: Hydrofoil evolution challenge #2: surface piercing foil

obodomar, good explanation :thumb: So would you shed more light and explain why the Strutless inflatables are exception to this general rule from your perspective, since In KF you see a lot of bias toward Strutless idea and Why you see all kind of nonsense physics of theory :?: Hi Aumm, that’s beca...

Re: Boardriding Maui Paipo, lightwind..or any wind.

Nice, you got it dialed pretty quick!
I assume these boards (the Paipo, and even more so the Shinnster?) make tacks even more technical due to the lack of flotation

Re: Hydrofoil evolution challenge #2: surface piercing foil

C foil inspiration that just flies fine. Let's imagine what follows with a kite, the catamaran becoming a catafoil - Not easy to figure out with the lateral traction of a kite. => Don Montague next challenge. A tripod maybe would suit KBHF better (2 C foils + 1 T ) Lateral traction (and its consequ...

I agree, it may have something to do with the rise of smartphones and even more addiction to the virtual world. But that's actually great, more water space/capita. Tx Apple/Samsung!

2. The AoA can never be greater than the downwind (glide) angle (and could only be equal to it if L/D was infinite). If you don't know why, get educated in the law of conservation of energy as it relates to aerodynamics. (Really educated, not just a bit Googled). Of course it can. All you need to d...
