Tim McGruder had his Wind Weapon and Jim Drake had his WingSails twenty years ago ... looks very similar!

Bummer ... maybe a lesson learned is never to travel with untested gear.

On my vacation to Mexico last winter I saw no other kiters, and no kite shops anywhere. I became paranoid about losing or breaking anything ... even worried about my pump hose! Always be prepared.

I just returned from a trip to mexico ... a norte came through last week and I was kiting in Puerto Moleros ... was doing lots of 30 foot high jumps (I could see the top of the roof of the hotel). On my last jump, I went up 30 feet, and then a gust lifted me another 20 feet - I was 50 feet up, and i...

Kiting and climbing

I'm looking for a vacation spot that features good kiting (intermediate-advanced) and climbing (beginner-intermediate, indoor gym is okay).

North/central america, caribbean, Jan-March, would be ideal.

Thanks

I've been riding one for two years. It suits me fine, except is has a flaw where the spreader bar pops out, as mentioned above. The fix is to thread some material (like a bungee) through the pieces. Search the forum and you'll see a picture. Once this is done, the harness works great, it's light and...

I'm sure glad my one-pump valves were clamped off when my LE blew about 1 mile out! The struts held their air, the kite floated, and it was easy to self-rescue.

The RRD guy's argument is false and makes no sense.
