Re: Disconnecting Z or more at the tip

For the limited design brief, none. It is a worthy improvement.

Re: Disconnecting Z or more at the tip

I have made a number of RA foils with reduced or no bridling at the tips to allow them to self-align reducing drag and tip tuck.

Re: Auto-Zenith high performance kite

Aft CG behind CE will cause a natural gravitational-induced upward yaw resulting in autozenith tendancy proportional to angle away from 12:00. Aft CG in a towed airborne vehicle is beneficial to keep the towline(s) tight. Autostable profile will also keep the lines tight. But, If too much of either,...

Re: DIY AR6 closed cell Quadrifoil Style

Hello Schietwedder:
Very cool to see your approach to embark on this challenging project, both cutting/sewing as well as design - especially with custom profiles. Looking forward to seeing your next construct in the air!
Cheers!

Re: Nitro 7 Proto Photos

Hello Shave & Jorg: I have a 30+ year longstanding policy to never copy anything no matter the product. When it is proposed I offer an immediate resignation (as I did vehemently in this case.) The kite shown was one of a suite of 5 protos exploring 3vs5 strut versions with similar profile and spanwi...

Re: Nitro 7 Proto Photos

Hello cnski: One year ago, Switch management made the decision to outsource their products from other vendors (bars, boards, kites, etc) and cease in-house development to reduce costs. They did not reveal this decision publically or to their customers. I'm sorry to hear you made a purchase of the H3...

Re: Nitro 7 Proto Photos

Hello Lewmt: That proto was built in early 2018 to the late 2017 Nitro7 design brief calling for lighter weight, faster turning and better re-launch. Testing with a variety of pro and advanced riders including challenging gusty overpowered Gorge conditions has been 100% positive. It keeps the classi...

Re: One strut kites - which the lightest of them all?

Very difficult to build a 9sqm no-strut inflatable for much under 2kg using conventional LE, canopy and bladder materials. Add a center strut at .25 - .5kg depending on C/L chord. The only way to cut the weight substantially is alternative materials and/or bladderless construction. Weight/sqm progre...
