Re: Slingshot Octane trouble - Better the RPM for waveriding?

We tried the Octane 11 over at Puerto Rico. I retunred it after 4 tacks, it didn't feel right. I ride an RPM 10. My buddy who bought it loves it, and has no problems with it. It does stall on him from time to time, but only whe he is standing arond with the kite in the air. He does not catch waves w...

Re: RPM Owners....a quick quiver question

For me, weighing in at 65kg (140 pounds?) on a 132 twin-top the comfortable wind range of the 10m is 15-25knots and 20-30knots on the 8m. I can hold onto bigger gusts and using a surf-board reduces the low end by about 3 knots. I prefer unhooking these days rather than boosting so prefer the lower ...

Re: LF Envy or Havoc

My friend Ryan who is the best kiteboarder I know, prefers my Havoc 12 2009 to my RPM 10. I think he is nuts!, but he really likes the Havoc. This past Sunday, the Real Kiteboarding team visited my home spot in La Parguera Puerto Rico. They really put on a show! They were all flying Havocs. Well, no...

Re: Hey, few questions on riding from a newb

I agree with WIndrider, its all about your stance. You must visualize your stance. I had my upwind breakthrough after doing a lot of kiteboard watching. I noticed how the better riders had their front leg almost streched out, and their back leg locked down. THey also had their shoulders facing forwa...

Re: RPM Owners....a quick quiver question

My RPM 10 rocks. I weigh 175lbs, and hardly ever feel overpowered. THese past few days its been really windy, 20+, and i have been able to manage my RPM 10 with a Liquid FOrce Recoil 136 without any problems. LOTS of boost. I borrowed my buddy's RPM 8 and felt very underpowered at 18 kts. You might ...

Re: Looking for a cheap place to stay in Puerto Rico

Are you renting a car? 7 weeks is a good amount of time. You could divy it up by staying by la parguera a few weeks and up at isabela for another few. Or find a central spot and drive to wherever its cranking that day. RIcon is really nice, but kiteboarding is sketchy and requires ortherly winds (tr...
