Re: Recommended 1 strut for big wing hydrofoiling?

Are you also seeking advice on these? As I can understand, it is for gusty lake foiling with little wind on the surface, so relaunch is essential, and also the ability to drift ashore without having to pack a foil kite down. And it should be very "C" like, with wide tips - why? For kitelooping? Wou...

Recommended 1 strut for big wing hydrofoiling?

creating a new specific "1 strut hydrofoil topic" Ok, I see huge difference in kites, according to riding style. Racing is different universe for sure. Here we talk on surfing-like freeride. Other thing that we must keep in mind - is conditions. Kiting in sea or ocean is so much differs from lake ki...

Re: Refurbish OR Soul drysuit

Thanks - I will try your rainypass recommendation first - since they hopefully can put in the gore-tex booties! Not a huge shipping difference from Fl to West coast or NE.

Re: Best kite for hydrofoil?

Holy shit - how many ways can this guy ask for recommendations and insight on relaunchability of single strut kites???? And somehow all we hear about are Peaks? I just swam in again after my 7 yr old 13m Velocity hit the water and would not relaunch - so I am really interested in this too. So please...

Refurbish OR Soul drysuit

Leg seal split on me this morning as I was putting my suit on. Suit is about 7 years old so I guess its time to replace them. I would like to have them replaced with goretex booties (or something similar). Looking for recommendations on where to have this done and if there is something specific I sh...

Re: Hook Failure: has it ever happened?

I've wondered what extra safety steps gliders take. It looks incredible to try. Seemed like a climbing harness and doubling up on the lines would be first things. I guess just using a carabiner and ring instead of a chicken loop would make sense too - and replace the depower line if it has any sign ...

Re: Reduce the Throw on an Ozone Contact V4 bar

I have short arms and had that problem on almost every bar. My solution was to get the infexion quick release. Now I easily have the full bar throw available. 2 quick releases would be much less than a single bar - there is an option that allows switching the QR from harness to harness but I think p...

Re: Warm booties for reptiles

any glove recommendations, i've got a couple pair but they seem very stiff I wear gore Tex “wind stopper” biking gloves with fleece liner in similar conditions. Fleece stays warm when wet and goretex keeps wind at bay. Never have cold fingers & I am usually first one in cold weather gear and last o...

Re: Off topic: Jules Verne circumnavigation race, foiled trimarans

Amazing! Hope they get good wind and break the record. I’ve wondered if taking sailboat lessons would help my kiting. I read in the beginning of kitesurf racing that a lot of the leaders came in with a background in sailboat racing, so it probably helped them. ... and don't take sailing lessons - g...
