Re: What's your yearly kite budget?

If you have the urge to change/upgrade you are on the wrong/lousy gear. If you don't, you are on the perfect gear, or don't know what you are missing - the latter is to some extent just fine :naughty: 8) Peter Aggh. Peter you are gonna force me to buy that alkyl a kite I tried last month- noooo!

Re: Which is the best glue for valves?

So I keep reading that Aquaseal is a popular choice. Which version of Aquaseal? On the Gearaid store, there are multiple versions: Aquaseal FD Aquaseal UV Aquaseal SR Aquaseal SIL Aquaseal NEO https://www.gearaid.com/search?q=aquaseal&type=product Aqualseal FD is what I have in my freezer at the mo...

Re: Which is the best glue for valves?

I've used stick-on replacements and Aquaseal. I abuse my kites - they spend lots of weeks in the back of my truck in 85-95F florida summer sun. I keep my kites for years - oldest is 8 yrs and newest is 3. I've had lots and lots of delaminations... Stickons always come off after a couple years. I've ...

Re: Infexion Max bar / Seatbelt Quick Release

Why I used the roller: I've had Dakine's first sliding hook that didn't slide, and I had the Dakine option hook that would slide and then jam on the ends. -- so I wanted to be sure it would slide smoothly. Was out in 15-25 kts on a 10m today. It was very smooth the way it worked. Glad to hear it was...

Re: Infexion Max bar / Seatbelt Quick Release

Trying this out as slider on rope.
It is a harken low friction ring (7mm ID I think) with a stainless 3/16 fender washer in each side

Smaller diameter fender washer would give better clearance to bar, but this size makes it almost impossible for rope to jam (we will see ...)

Re: Infexion Seatbelt Quick Release

My freeride setup from Infexion https://kiteforum.com/download/file.php?id=93980&mode=view Evan - just received my QR and micro leash. It’s a fantastic bit of design and build quality! I did forget to order the depower ring set. I have 5mm depower line. What ring set do you recommend? Also, does th...

Re: Any OR Roam Allula reviews yet

Lots of info in the other thread. Friend of mine just received his 12m Roam A. He is head over heals in love with it! I used if for a short session on a day when my 17m Flite would have been very marginal to relaunch. Took a couple pumps to get up riding on the foil and then it was off to the races....

Re: Simple short line extensions - is a figure-8 knot ok?

That's west marine spider line 350 pound strength doubled it's 700 pounds but because it's sleeved it should loose less than 10 percent on a figure 8 knot so take takes it to around 600 pounds or 275 kg or so. I take back what I said about it being above spec 600 pound line is fine but it's not ove...
