Re: Foil design idea

Yenice, you need to keep in mind that most of the development of flex in any flexible materials on the front wing when you are foiling will be from your own weight. The current pumping motion people employ is to push down on the board to lift themselves up, deweight the front first so that forward ...

Re: requesting suggestions on kite board purchase

Kim, good choice to avoid the round shape. Ocean Modeo Mako has deep concave and is rounded and it is the best shape for carving up waves in a kiteboard that I know of, but for your conditions it is a waste and not good for jumping. For the small chop rounding does cut down on spray but if you want ...

Re: Predictions for Hydrofoils in 2022

Had the chance to ride an expensive eFoil one of my friends got - and must say, amazing speed and range and immediate fun indeed  But I couldnt care less, would never get one myself - just like motorboat versus sailing - the first is a nogo :naughty: If you lived in a place with sub 8 kno...

Re: Predictions for Hydrofoils in 2022

With these gas prices for me this year it will be going foiling on a motorcycle. Also getting inflatable wing foiling board to go on a motorcycle to the places with limited access/parking. You see the trend? Foiling and motorcycle, maybe even bicycle. By the way I had a chance to buy very unique (R...

Re: Predictions for Hydrofoils in 2022

Pfft. If you're worried about being hurt by the foil/surfboard fins/dropping your TT on your toes Greenturtle, you should stay at home, in a padded room, no knives, eat soft food with a spoon. You'll be safe. It's all right, we can provide a counsellor for your foil fears   The counsellor...

Re: Predictions for Hydrofoils in 2022

quote=Flyboy post_id=1164297 time=1647402118 user_id=922] I never would have started wing foiling based on it's look. I noticed wingfoilers in my area just after I discovered the sport on the internet and began making my first hydrofoil. Designs #7,#8 and #9 later, My perspective is quite different....

Re: Predictions for Hydrofoils in 2022

One of the problems with foiling is it just doesn't look particularly cool - it looks a little odd in fact. That's true of kite foiling, surf foiling and (especially) winging. However, the actual sensation of foiling - the ability to ride the energy below the surface of water - is something special...

Re: Perianal hematoma

Is it possible for the harness to compress your midsection enough during a bad loop for a similar thing to happen? I was trying to get my Helis dialed in on a 6m in 35kts; but it turned into a powered downloop at the last minute and slingshotted me into the water like a piledriver. 12.2G landing (w...

Re: Battling changing wind conditions

Ha, I tried a new spot wing surfing today. Tried one of my new design foils for the first time(I wanted a light wind one with my new design techniques and designed a 1350sqcm foil), pumped up my 6m wing. It was side shore and extremely gusty. However, my new wing and my 125kgs weight of me and board...
